I woke up early and ran to school. Jane didn't wait for me because she had an exam for the day and needed to study. After I freshened myself up I went to my locker and got some books. I was busy fixing my stuff when someone suddenly leaned on the locker next to me: Michael. His face was different from the last time I saw him. He was arrogant and confident that time, but now he had this pitiful expression on his face and looked like he hadn't slept the whole night.

I quickly stepped back, obviously afraid of him.

"Anne," he said, "I'm so sorry for what I did at the party. It was not my intention to hurt you or scare you. I'm really, really sorry."

I could see from his face that he really meant what he said. I wasn't exactly mad, I was just upset. I wasn't upset because he tried to drag me to somewhere but because he made Gab say something that he wasn't supposed to say, pretending to be my boyfriend.

"It's okay. Just make sure it won't happen again." I gave him a weak smile to make him believe that I wasn't mad at him.

"I'm really sorry, I didn't you know you already have a boyfriend."

"We broke up." I said to him almost right after he spoke. I didn't know why but it sounded bitter.

"Wait! What?!" He asked, a look confusion and shock was drawn on his face.

"Is it because of me?"

"Yes and no," I answered. "Yes, because what you did caused a misunderstanding which led to a huge argument. And no, because you're not a third party."

"Whoa, that's harsh." He said while laughing.

It wasn't really his fault. And there was really nothing between Gab and I. I just wanted him to be freed from this silly fake boyfriend/girlfriend thing.

After we talked, we made our way to our class but before parting ways we ran into Gab.

His eyes widened when he saw Michael and I together. His expression changed. He looked really annoyed, his eyebrows furrowed while glaring at Michael.

"What are you doing with her?!" He snapped.

Michael quickly raised his hands in surrender and explained himself.

"I just said sorry to her." Gab didn't look satisfied with Michael's answer so he advanced a step, threatening him.

"Look, dude, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt her. And also I didn't know that she had a boyfriend."

"Had?" Gab asked, surprised.

It suddenly crossed through my mind that he didn't know about our "break-up" yet. I was planning to tell him at lunch or after school but obviously bad luck always came my way.

"Yes, she told me that you broke up. Not because of me, of course, but because of what happened after."

Gab's green eyes were now glaring at me. I could feel a killing intent. (Nah, I was just exaggerating it was more like pissed?). His fierce eyes were so intense so I decided to not look at him.

"She said that you guys had a misunderstanding and--"

But before he could let Michael finish what he was saying, he grabbed my wrist and dragged me.

"Excuse us."

Gab had managed to say that. Still gripping my wrist, he led me to the school garden. Good thing no one was there. After he released me, he faced me, crossed his arms, and raised his right eyebrow. My first, albeit silly, thought was that I envied him because he could raise one of his eyebrows while I couldn't raise neither one of them. But suddenly the air felt heavy and I had a bad feeling about it. Looking at his face (not eyes because they were scary), I could tell that he was waiting for an explanation.
