PROLOGUE

The tree was an old tree, nobody cared much about. It sat, momentarily flowing by the given wind. Some say that the tree had produced enough oxygen to purify the European's 1800's. Some say that a beaver couldn't knock it down because of the "thick skin" it had gained from the many years of sitting on the soft, green floor, doing nothing. but the true mind twister was how it was able to stay rooted to the ground for so long. But then again, nobody cared much about it.

But the sad thing was, they should of. they should cared for it and praised it. but nobody did that, nobody even glanced at, or wondered what secrets it held. Though, they should have paid attention to it, the tree wasn't the problem, it was the thing living inside it.

CHAPTER ONE

"Mama? when's suppa gon' be ready?"

"Don't rush me, Iowa! Makin suppa takes hard work. Gotta butter up th' corn, and season th' pork chop!"

"Sorry mama."

"It's ok, Iowa. Suppa will be ready soon." The little 10 year old didn't have all the common since in the world, or maybe not any, but he always cared for his mama. When she was sick with the swine flu, he gave her medicine and soup. He did what ever he could do for her, no matter how hard it was.

He went outside to the ole tree with his tire swing. he sat in it slowly thinking about life. Nothing could beat the relationship that him and the tree had. nobody gave much attention to it, but he loved the thing. it gave him joy in his darkest hours, ( including when he had lost his teddy bear shopping at one of those city grocery stores) he loved the thick skin and the stumps of the many branches that used to be. he cared for it when nobody else did. it was his friend.

"Iowa! Suppa's ready!" She called out to him.

Under her breath she said, "Damn, that tree scares the hell out a me."

She would be its first victim.

CHAPTER TWO

"Your a two cent whore!"

"And your a drunk bastard! Go to hell!"

"I would to get away from you!!!"

"Your a terrible person! I hope you burn there!"

"Whatever. I'm going to buy a drink." he shut the door, making sure not to let the door hit him where the good lord split him.

He was destroying her. things had got worst. the drinking problem was too much. And she couldn't even think about what he did when she wasn't around-

It didn't matter. she knew that this couldn't work. but she was afraid to leave, cause he would find her and...

She walked out onto the patio in the dress he loved "so much."

She thought back to a time when things were better, nicer, when she was in love with him.

That time did not exist.

Their relationship was planned. preserved, you might say. they had never fallen in love or gotten to know each other, but here's what happened.

A long time ago in the small town of San Fransico, (that's sarcasm) they had met when she had got mixed up in the wrong crowd. She started taking cocaine with a bunch of hippies on the west coast. she had almost O.D. lying on the hot, yellow sand. When she woke up she was in a hospital bed, with a stranger standing over her. It was him. after the hospital visit, she had promised to go out with him, but soon found that he was nothing but an angry drunk, who cared about nothing but taking a few swigs from a bottle of vodka. Soon she had found out that this was all his plan. she was his plan to become the most known man in town. she didn't know what was going to happen, but the future felt grim.
