Childish

Chapter 1

I was walking to the town's public library to get a books for a school project on American History. My friends we're back at the house so I went alone

'Look at me being a responsible adult' I smiled to myself 'My parents should be proud of me'

I felt my backpack vibrate. I quickly took out my phone, but no one texted me

"Weird" I told myself

I quickly put my phone back and took out April. I opened the book and flipped to a new page

Are we there yet? Your backpack isn't the most comfortable place to be

I looked around to see if anyone was watching. Because what if you just see a random teenager talking to a book? You'll think their crazy

"Yeah we're almost there" I told her

It took me a while to realize that I'm talking to a book. I may not show it, but it freaks me out a bit. This book is alive, is a female, can feel pain, has some sort of dark magic surrounding it. And here I am talking to it like if it was human

Why can't you teleport their yourself?

Oh that's another thing. This book believes I can control magic. Which is stupid, because I can't even cook myself dinner. But apparently everyone has magic in this dimension, but we're to lazy to find them.

I just ignore what she usually says and try to do my daily routine, but she always finds a way to try and make me say a spell out loud. And if she can't then she'll go to my friends and try to make them say some sort of spell out loud

"Because April" I started with an eye roll "I'm not magical. I have no idea where you came from, but I know for a fact that no one in this dimension has magic"

Your going to eat your words, just you wait! I can see many things and I know you'll be begging me to teach you and your friends magic

"Riiiight, for now I just need to finish my homework"

I closed her and she quickly transformed into a black and blue watch. I smiled and I entered the library

"Why hello there Ashley, what brings you here on such a beautiful day" the librarian exclaimed happily

"Hi Mrs. Wanders! I just need a couple of books for a school project"

She nodded and I walked towards the nonfiction area. After what seemed forever, I got 4 books and walked towards the front desk to check them out

"Hello again Ashley! Did you find everything OK?" Mrs. Wanders asked

"Yeah I just got some books on American history" I told her as I passed her the books

We started to have a quick conversation, she then handed me me back the books and smiled at me. I smiled at her and walked out the library towards the house.

~time skip~

I finally got home. It was already turning dark, as I walked inside the living room

"Hey Ash! Finally home I see!" Jessica said

She was sitting down on the couch watching T. V. with Jacob, and Sue and Madison we're trying to make dinner

I walked by them, saying hello and went straight to my room. I got out everything in my backpack, and began my homework

Bzzz

Bzzzz

BZZZZZZZZZZZZ

"I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME APRIL!"

I got up angrily and open the book up. I saw in black letters something that seems to be written in another language, but I couldn't recognize it

"April what's this?" I asked

I flipped the pages to see if she said anything

Nothing

Just the same bunch of letters

"If this is another spell I won't say it"

No reply

"Um.... April, your scaring me a bit"

Again with no reply

Suddenly the pages began to move rapidly, the book began to glow a dark shade of blue. I quickly dropped it and took a couple steps back. I saw a flash if light and fell backwards on my bottom. The flash of light went straight up and flew out of my bedroom door

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!" I heard coming from downstairs

My eyes widen as I ran downstairs, I ran into the living room. I saw that it was unusually quiet. I walked around the room until I trip over something small

"Hey! Watch it!"

My eyes widen as I looked behind me. I saw a little blonde girl, around six staring at me angrily. Her face was red from anger

"Watch it! You could've hit me dummy!" She said in a high pitch voice

"W-who are you?" I asked her nervously

"My name is Sue-Sue!" She said happily and ran towards the kitchen

It took me a second before running after her as I realize my mistake. When I reached the kitchen I saw little Sue hugging another girl

"This is my bestie! Her name is Maddie!"

"Hi stranger! I like your bow, it looks weird!"

I blushed a little and hid my bow, I took a quick look at Madison before a boy came running in holding Baby Panda

"Why is there so many people here! Where am I?!"

"Let me guess, your Jacob?" I asked already knowing the answer

"Are you some kind of genie?" He asked amazed

"Not really, but I know more than you think"

He gave me this look before shrugging and running over to Madison and Sue. They all introduce themselves again when I notice something

"Hey where's Jessica?" I asked them

"Who that" Sue said

"I bet it's her sister"

"No way! That could be a mom's name"

"Madison that so stupid! It's obviously her pet alien from Mars"

"Hey! Don't say stupid, that's a bad word"

"Nu uh!"

"Uh huh!"

I rolled my eyes and walked around looking for Jessica, silently hoping she didn't turn into a child

But, I was wrong

I saw a little girl with her hair pulled back into a ponytail, she was holding Sue's baseball bat with excitement. She was wearing a simple T-shirt with pants. She had the biggest smile I've seen

"Sup! I'm Jessica" she said with a grin

I felt myself pulling my hair as Jessica hugged my legs

'What did you do April?! What did I do?!'
