Once upon a time, there was a king and a queen
They ruled over a kingdom of things magical, leafy, and green
Side by side, hand in hand,
They happily ruled over all the land
Though through peace and heavenly light
The people grew bitter and began to fight
The king and queen both leapt into action
Separating their ways, loosing attraction
The fights grew larger until war began
The kingdom began to no longer be bland
Night and day blurred into one
The battles left hope and peace for none
After the battles continued for a while
The people turned to the king and queen, accusing them of something vile
They sent their anger and resent to them
Only to attack based on their thoughts of a whim
The king and queen were scared but strong
They tried to defend each other all day long
Side by side, hand in hand
They attempted to fend off the people of their land
But all began to fail, all fell through
If only the thoughts of the people were true
The king and queen wanted to be stronger but were not
And the people received the "justice" that they sought
Swords in hand, They aimed for the king
But instead hit the queen with a deafening swing
She fell to her knees, cracking a smile
But it only lasted for a short while
The king let out a saddening cry
Staring down the people, telling them their thoughts were a lie
He held her close to his chest
as she whispered how she wished him the best
As time continued, she lay there still
She was never to move, no matter his will
And with that the people soon understood
If only they had sooner, if only they could
Once upon a time, there was only a king
Who ruled over a kingdom that once had beauty and bling
And all alone on his throne he sat
Wearing his crown which had become merely a hat
If only she were here, but sadly she is not
It was a darkening thought that left him to rot
And though his kingdom had once been beautifully green
It had lost all color, now that he was without his queen
