I stood in front of the mirror examining myself from head to toe. My face had no sign of emotions on it whatsoever. I looked dead, pale, unlike my normal self. I would describe my skin colour to light creamish instead of white or plain old peach. The only prove of me being alive currently, was my chest heaving up and down and my slightly pink tinted cheeks. I was wearing a red pencil skirt and a black blouse top with a swallow tail blazer paired black louboutin high heels. The blazer effectuated my curves in all the right places as it fitted on to me quite tightly. I had put on red Swarovski studs that my grandmother had gave me on my 18th birthday. My dark brow thick hair was naturally curly so I decided to let it loose after putting on some hair spray to hide my baby hair. I applied very minimal make up on. Just compact powder, mascara, blush, bronzer and lip gloss. I never would have ever thought that I would be all dressed up like this to go on a date with a family friend whom I’ve never met or heard of that seemed very much important to my father. I'm not at all the girly type when it comes to dressing up but I knew the essentials and what it required. I'm very much into dressing up for comfort then dressing up to impress.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I am Katherina Victoria Analeyse Milleon.

I am 19 years old. Going to be 20 soon.

My name is longer than any other usual human being is because I was named after my late aunt, or to be more accurate her name was my 2nd middle name. Victoria Rosetta Kensington was her name. She was my fathers elder sister, a very much mother figure to him.

I am extremely close to my family members unlike many people in today’s age. My father was my best friend all along, still is and always will be. I am immensely close to my father. We have a very close emotional bond, we feel each other, he knows something is wrong with me even if I am miles away from him. Fatherly instincts I guess.

I am from a well to do family. Self made, all my fathers four brothers collided power, brains and energy to bring success to our family company, Knight Incorporated although all of them now own their own individual companies. The brothers brought up the family name and upgraded from living in a 3 bedroom flat to a 3 storey bungalow. So basically the story of my dad is exactly what you would describe as from rags to riches. By the time I was born our family was well to do.

I have always been attached to the boys in the family as in cousins. Hence I am not a girly girl. I have an elder brother Xavier Alexander but he was mostly in his own world. He is ten years elder to me. He had issues growing up, so I wasn't allowed to spend much time with him. He didn't have much time too, he had to solve his own problems. He had gotten into drugs, alcohol, gangsterism and well anything illegal. I also had a younger brother Arthur Lawrence. He on the other hand was 7 years younger to me. By the time I had learned to be independent and started schooling he was just a new born baby crying every now and then. He was also slightly irritating and was a peasant most of the time. We never really understood each other probably because of our age difference. For me he was too childish and pampered, for him I was to serious and spoilt which I disagree too.

Xavier Alexander recently came to live with us when I was 15, after going to several rehabilitation centers and finishing his studies. It was so strange and whimsical. It was like my family had adopted him. I barely knew him, he hadn't even attended any of my birthdays. For me then, my only brother was Bryant. The bond that him and I had, no other sibling could have in this world.

Now in the present, my bond with Xavier is becoming stronger as we've learned to except each other as siblings and opened up to each other. I look up to him as an elder brother and he accepts me for a younger sister. He thinks I'm naive and innocent so he is always very protective about me. I respected and loved him as my wish of having a close bond with an elder brother was now coming true. Although the decisions he has made in life were bad, but if it wasn't for all his mistakes he wouldn't be the better man that he was today. He often tells me never regret anything you've done in the past because at that particular point it was exactly the right choice or what you wanted and also if it wasn't for your mistakes in life, you wouldn't be the person you are today. Xavier was now exactly gentleman material.
