chapter thirteen

i danced by my self. i know what a loner. i brought a date but he was off somewere. i really didnt care for james. infact he was a bit intimidating, even for me. i mean i liked a chalenge and james presented that to me. but now i felt as if he was somehow...darker. not in color but in tone. he seemed distracted when we were dancing and i thought i had a pretty good idea why. anna.

i felt my anger spike up a little and then i felt bad. its not that i dont like her because odviously i do. its just that seeing her with trent had set me on such a thin wire. i mean was she trying to die. not that i would have killed her. im sure trent is just doing this to torture me. i sighed mentally. anna deserved someone like trent. someone who could lover her fully and completely without having to worry.

anna was an amazing person if people would just give her a chance thgen they'd see what i see. i know that she still mourns jermey but she cant be in this emotional shell forever. it wasnt healthy. i love anna like a sister but shes just so emotionally....shut out. she refuses to think that anyone can be jermey and shes right no one can be him because he was her first love and you never forget your first love. sighing i realized i was done with this place. anna was supposed to come home with me but i didnt see her anywere. i sighed again and made my way to my table. i sat down and decided to wait for her. i played with the little snow like pieces on the table until i felt someone tap on my shoulder. i looked up and almost fainted.

there he stood in all his beautiful god like essance. he was so...masculan and....hot. his piercing eyes sent shock waves through me and i couldnt help but lose my breath. he smiled a sweet yet knowing smile like he was reading my mind. i was lost for a moment before i regained my hold on the present.

"what do you want?"i asked not in the mood. he smiled deeper and i couldnt help but want to smile with him.

"i would like to ask the most amazing woman here for a dance."he said. oh so that was it. he was looking for anna.

"good luck trent ive been looking for her all night" i muttered. he frowned.

"but you would need a mirror."he said. it was my turn to frown at him. then, me being my uber smart self, pieced together that it was me he was talking about. i mentally slapped myself. 'good going. make yourself look like an even bigger freak" i thought. i looked for someone to save me but saw no one. i sighed and decided what the hell. i nodded and took his hand and tried to ignore the butterflys that caressed my stomach as he led me onto the floor and a slow song came on.

'its one dance' i thought. "what could go wrong?" boy was i in for it.

trent.

i watched as layla fought with herself. she wanted to dance with me i knew she did. she looked so surprised that i called her the most amazing person here. but she was. i mean ya there was anna and i knew thats who came to her mind but shes not,,,layla. it was hard to explain the pull i had to her.

it would be better explained in this simple way. she was who my soul knew. kindred spirits if you will. but there was more to it than that. she was....mine. yeah mine and i hated to see her with anyone else and i especially hated her being with him. that james guy really sets me on edge. he was just so....ugh it was another thing that was hard to explaine. she sighed her cute little sigh and nodded and i didnt fight the smile that formed on my lips. i took her hand and a slow song came on as we reached the dance floor. she hesitated for a second before letting me pull her close and we swayed to the music. soon she rested her head on my chest and got into the music. i leaned down slightly so i could talk to her.

"you are really beautiful layla."i told her and i felt her stiffen. "that is the whole truth. i find myself thinkingof you when i dont want to. i think that i might like you more than an aquointance. ive seen you laugh and all i think about when you do is if someday i can be the one who makes you laugh. i see you comfort anna and i wish that it was me in your arms and that we could be something more." i felt her shudder at my word and smiled again.

"i-i d-dont-"i cut her off.

"dont say you dont think the same thing. dont say you dont want me with you. just dont layla. its not fair to keep me waiting like this. it isnt fair to deny ourselves of our feelings for eachother. i wont do it. not anymore. you are who i want layla and i wont be the one to deny you" her kenns had gone weak and i held her up. her eyes met mine and before i could think on what might happen after, i kissed her.

and let me tell you it was amazing

my legs felt like jelly as i listened to him practically lay his heart on the floor. he wanted me. Me! layla who no one wanted, not even my own parents. this amazing god of a man wanted me. and i wasnt dreaming! i fell against trent as my legs colapsed and my head snapped up and i looked into his eyes. then in a blink he kissed me.

color exploded in my mind and i could swear i could see our future. me and trent going on our first date, trent proposing, our wedding, me in a white dress and a dazling smile on my face as people threw the wedding rice, anna in the backround holding a persons hand smiling at us with pure joy in her eyes. our hunny mood in an unknown place, our first child, a girl with my hair and his eyes and a personality all her own. our other children and all the happy moments in our future. i opened my closed eyes and saw him looking at me and i knew without knowing how i knew that he saw the same thing i did. my arms wrapped around trents neck and deepened the kiss.

oh, yes i could definatly see my future. and boy was i gonna love it.

aiden

"you let her go."i said to james. his black eyes stared at me emotionlessly. he smiled cruely.

"as you wish."he said and he opened his hand and let anna go. i heard a small squeek as i ran to the edge and looked down on the clif and sighed in reliefe. anna dangled from the small flag pole that poked out from a windowsil.

"ill be there i a second, just hold on okay?"i said.

"like i have much of a choice. its either hold on or die."she said. i was amazed at how calm she was. i turned to face james about to let him face my wrath but he was gone. i sighed in frustration. i hurried back over to the edge and saw anna still there. i lowered my hand down to he she reached up with shaky hands and grasped my own. i pulled her up without breaking a sweat and i looked at her once and pulled her close to me. then i thought of something and pulled her away.

"what were you doing out here and what was that all about?"i asked. she looked at me and said..

"you should tell me why all this is happening? or maybe why everytime i go to help that..that...prick. he threatens me with his oh-so-scary black eyes? you know what i hate this!" ive never seen anna break down like this. she was always so calm and colected. then i thought of her words and i was emediatly on edge.

what do you know?"i asked her. she looked away and my other side took hold of me. other me held her chin firmly but gently and made her look at me. "what do you know?" i repeated. her eyes watered and i could feel her anger and sadness roll off of her. she said one word that changed my life on earth forever.

"everything."
