There once were three kingdoms, the merciless yet graceful kingdom of Red, the kind and gentle kingdom of Purple, and the mysterious Blue kingdom. The three kingdoms were constantly at war with each other, resulting in the death of many innocent people.
The royal families decided it was time for the wars to stop, so they agreed to have their eldest sons marry and unite the kingdoms together. On the day of the youngest prince's 20th birthday he was to meet his fiancés for the first time.
Today was that day.
Prince Ame woke up early that day, practically jumping out of his bed. He quickly threw on his trousers and shirt, slipping on his violet overcoat on his way out the door. He rushed towards a bath room, fixing his hair and applying light makeup. He tucked in his shirt and made sure the buttons on his coat were straight before leaving the room and dashing down the stairs.
He slid down the rail, falling at the bottom and landing face-first on the ground. He opened his eyes to see a pair of boots in front of him. His eyes drifted up to look for the source of the shoes, and his face grew warm when he realized who he had just fell in front of.
"Are you alright? That was quite a fall," a gentle voice said, reaching out a hand toward the younger boy. Prince Carmine helped Ame to his feet and kissed his hand lightly. "I assume you know who I am, and it's a pleasure to meet you," Carmine said, a devilish grin dancing on his lips.
Ame blushed brightly, but his face broke into a smile quickly. "Hello Carmine! It's so nice to finally meet you! I've been waiting for this day for so long, gosh I'm so glad you're finally here! Do you know if Azure is here yet? Oh goodness, I'm just so happy!" The younger boy spoke quickly, shaking his fiancé's hand, before pulling him into a tight hug.
Carmine, although surprised, regained his cool attitude. He already had experience in getting men to fall for him, he was sure this would be easy, but he had never met a man like Ame before, and he had never needed to fall for someone back.
"I don't believe Azure has arrived yet, though I'm sure he'll be here soon. You and I could spend some time together while we wait though," Carmine said, then he leaned in and whispered, "perhaps in your private quarters?" Ame nodded and grabbed his hand, proceeding to lead the older boy up the stairs and toward his room.
"I really am very excited to meet you, on my birthday too! Getting to meet my two future husbands is such a wonderful gift, really I couldn't ask for more," Ame chattered on the way to his room, he usually got chatty when he was nervous.
Finally they arrived in the bedroom and Ame led Carmine in. "This is it! This is where I sleep, sing, paint, eat, and well, do most things, really. Feel free to make yourself at home!" he exclaimed, gesturing to the room. He sat down on his bed and eagerly waiting for the other's reaction to his many possessions, most of which being paintings, clothes, and books.
Carmine examined some of the paintings then walked towards Ame. He sat down next to him and brushed his hand against the other's thigh. "Those paintings are very lovely, but you're the only thing catching my eye," he spoke softly, and he turned his head so his lips were inches away from Ame's.
His hand slowly cupped the other's cheek, fingers running through his hair.
Suddenly Ame pushed forward, his lips landing on Carmine's, tilting his head into the red prince's hand. The kiss was slow and passionate, which Carmine wasn't used to. Seconds passed and they broke for air, but their lips quickly resumed their previous position.
Ame jumped at the sound of a knock at the doorway. "Having fun without me? That's hardly fair," a deep voice said, smirking at the view. "Azure! You're finally here!" Ame's face lit up, while still blushing, and he looked at Carmine to see if he was also happy.
Carmine's face was bright red and he seemed out of breath. He turned to look at his other fiancé, whom he had already met before. "Azure, darling, it's a pleasure to see again. Care to join us?" he said, wiggling his eyebrows at the other prince. He smirked when he saw Ame's blush grow a shade or two darker. The younger boy started to stutter a bit before deciding not to speak.
Azure grinned and left the doorway, striding towards the two on the bed. He sat on the opposite side of Ame, as close as possible. He grabbed his chin and lightly guided his face closer, before saying, "I'd love to join you two," and pressing his lips against the younger one's.
He broke away after a few seconds, and grabbed Carmine by the shirt, and pulled him into a rougher kiss, before pulling away and muttering, "don't think I would forget about you," Ame looked at the two, his face burning red and his hair a bit messy. He suddenly cut in, "we're going to be late for our families' lunch!" He quickly stood up and began fixing his hair and jacket, before turning to the other two and telling them to do the same.
"We just met and we're already making out, gosh, this is going much quicker than I anticipated," he mumbled, buttoning his coat's last button. "Come on you two, our parents will be upset if we're late!" He said louder, pulling them out the door.
This might be better than I expected, he thought to himself, perhaps arranged marriage won't be so bad.

(A/N: this is kinda messy lmao whoops. The next prologue chapter is gonna be Carmine and when he met Azure, and the chapter after that is gonna focus more on Azure. I'm hoping to actually update this story and maybe even get a schedule going, but as of right now I'm just gonna update whenever I feel up to it. Sorry if that takes a while, but I'm gonna try harder with this story than my other previous stories haha)
