a child. Carrots help you see in the dark, if you keep your face like that it'll get stuck, if a boy hits you he likes you. These all started as harmless lies told by parents to protect their children from.. Well, the real world. But who says it didn't just damage them for life?
I am Carrie, and I was a victim to these lies told by my parents when I was just 7 years old. 20 years have gone by since I was first told.. And I haven't been the same since. I guess it got worse over time, I never noticed the locked door, the lack of trust, no one saw the bruises, the scars, my pain, I would cry out for help but no one would listen, I was held down by the shackles of his power. I was his possession, drowning in the fear he spread across my body, every touch, every embrace, every hug. I was scared ; but he was a boy...
