"George give my headphones back, right now!" I shout as my younger brother gets off his bed to run away from me.
"Please Lol I just need it for one more episode." He tries to plead with me, I stomp my foot and nod my head in agreement. "One more episode and that's it for the day. I don't understand why you can't just use your pocket money to buy your own." I say, hoping he will soon get his own earphones. I love him to death and that's led to me agreeing to him a lot.
George and I don't argue a lot, mostly because he's a very understanding and caring brother, but his perpetual use of my things drives me insane. We have a single mother and George has missed out on a dad for most of his life, if not all. I spent five years with him and Anna spent three years with him.
Anna's my younger sister, who's at work at the present moment. As soon as I think of this the front door opens and Anna parades in laughing. I wonder why she is laughing on her own, until I go downstairs to greet her and there she is in all her glory. By she I'm referring to my lovely cousin Farah, by lovely I mean the devil itself.
Farah is three years older than me, but will never make me forget that with her contolling nature. She is everyone's favourite in the family, which I don't mind but only if they knew. Farah's always telling on me to her mom or my mom, both of whom are sisters. She practically lives at my house, wears all my clothes, uses all my belongings, but I can't so much as touch her bag or phone.
I still go upto them and say hi. Farah replies with a simple "Hey" and marches up the stairs in undoubtedly the direction of my room.
"Date night, she needs clothes." Anna informs me."How's your flu?" She asks me.
"Better, thanks." I tell her.
We both head to the kitchen, I sit at the counter while Anna works up a sandwich for us. As soon as she is done, she places it in front of me. Farah walks in, grabs my sandwich and leaves, offering a "Bye". Seriously how hard could it be to say thank you?
"I don't know how you stand her." I say to Anna.
"She's not that bad, not everyone is the nicest person ever like you, you know." She offers.
"Whatever. Mom's birthday is next week and I saw the cutest necklace for $200, if I give a hundred and you too then we can afford it. George can pay for the cake and card. Also, I'll tell Nate to pay for the food and balloons and I'm sure aunt Nelly will come too, also Farah." I say.
"Sounds like a plan." Anna replys, grabs her bag and makes her way to her room, probably to start on her homework.
The bell rings and I go to answer it, Nate comes in with a wide smile on his face, this cannot be good.
"What is wrong?" I ask him, genuinely concerned.
"How did you know?" He says.
"Just spill." I counter.
"It's Rosie's birthday tomorrow, I totally forgot and I need to get her a gift." He rambles. Oh! I forgot to mention Nate is Farah's younger brother he is my age and unlike Farah is a great person. Also, Rosie is his girlfriend of two years and happens to be my best friend too.
I grab my coat and tug him out after me, shouting at whoever is listening that I'm going out with Nate. "To the mall we go." I say, with my best British accent.
Nate laughs and says: "You're the best you know that right."
I know and that's when we start the dreaded journey, after I get into the car.
