Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was your hometown. You grew up here with your mother, father, and brother. Your parents made sure you all came off as the "perfect family." You went to church every Sunday, you and your brother were honor role students, and you all got along with each other.
There was one issue with your "perfect family." You're a lesbian. In this city, homosexuality is usually looked down upon. Your parents deny to accept that you like girls. They say it's a sin and that you chose to be lesbian so that you could rebel against them. Because that's obviously how it works, right?
Even though you still love your family, despite your parents' ignorance, you chose to move out as soon as you could. You turned 18 a few months ago and finally had enough money to move. You'll miss your family and the friends you left behind, but Brooklyn, New York was where you wanted to be.
