"PEARL GET OUT OF HERE!" Blake Winter yelled to his 4 year old daughter "I promised your mother I would protect you, you have to go with the other children. I will come find you when the battle is won." He kissed his beloved daughter on the forehead one last time before handing her to one of the pack mothers. "Daddy i don't want to go!" the young girl screamed for her father as she was carried away with all the other children of the pack.
Pearl waited for her father ever night at the hidden pack cabin, sitting on the porch steps. She waited for a month, no one coming back before the pack mothers decided it was time to go find new packs, many of them broken from the loss of their mates. Each year Pearl had less and less company till finally she was all alone at age 15. Her best friend Beth had just met her mate and joined the Golden Moon pack. They had offered Pearl to join but she said she had to find her lost uncles pack. Beth was two years older and had warned Pearl that she would have her first shift soon, and it would be worst alone. Pearl nodded knowing the risk she was taking. Ever since then, shes been alone.
