Accept defeat, accept it well,
No feelings here to find.
It's unfitting for a villain to write a villanelle.
The crowd's cheers swell,
A hero shouts: "Victory is mine!"
Accept defeat, accept it well.
Many say I'm unwell,
That loss has stolen my mind.
It's fitting for a villain to write a villanelle
How many times have I fell?
Far too many, I find.
But, I accept defeat, and accept it well.
Everyone has a story to tell,
And mine is never kind.
Quite fitting for a villain to write a villanelle.
But that's merely what I sell,
I'm actually just fine.
I won't accept defeat and won't accept it well!
