The Shadows Return

chapter one

"Just perfect" it said. When it realized that there was someone in the room it quickly spun around and saw that it was her, "why are you here" it said in a snake like whisper.

" now now, that's no way to speak to the widow now is it" she said. He just looked at her blankly, until she looked slightly nervous. After all it is hard to look at its face when it's hidden under a hood.

"Why are you here" it said again, but this time its voice had a darker side to it. "Why, I was paid to bring you this" as she said that she set down a rather shiny, sunbleached skull on the table next to her. "Thank you" it whispered as she left.

When it was sure she was gone it than removed it's hood to reveal nothing, nothing but a shadow. After removing it's hood it set the skull in the shadow and breathed a sigh of relief.

"I will find you, and when I do I'll make you a shadow just as you did to me."it said to itself as the shadow became skin and it finally said it's name...
