Chapter 1 -Let off easy

*trigger warning*

"You little piece shit!!" She spat in my face.

"You think your little faggot ass can go around flirting with boys while your with me?!!?" There was silence I knew not to answer or else the worst would come.

"Well??... I'm waiting what's your excuse?!" She was in full rage mode now. She punched me with full force straight in my stomach. Well that's going to leave a mark. I groaned in pain and slid down the wall that she corned me in. I didn't even realize I was crying until I saw a tear fall to the ground. I didn't know what to say I was to scared to speak. But I had to answer.

"I... Umm" then she kneeled to my level and raised her hand high up. I knew what was going to happen next. She did this every time. Every time I spoke to anyone or look at anyone, especially a guy.

*~~~~~~~this morning~~~~~~~*

We were walking around the mall Because she apparently needed new shoes even though she has a pair for every day of the year. The worst thing was that I always had to pay for whatever she bought.

"RIVER!!!" I walked over to the cashier where she was waiting with an annoyed look on her face. The cashiers face was the best thing I have ever seen, he looked like he had come from the heavens. He smiled at me and I smiled back. I looked over at Paige and she was glaring at the cashier and I. I looked back at him, he had theses eyes that I could melt in.

" Your total will be 573 dollars and 86 cents." Let me tell you his voice was the most soothing thing i have ever heard I could listen to it all day. I handed him the money and when he took it our fingers brushed against each other's and I swear I felt a little tingle. Or maybe it was just me, probably just me. But either way I was blushing like a mad man. Before he handed me the receipt he wrote something down on it.

    "Thank you have a nice day" I smiled back at him

    "You too!" he gave that a million dollar smile

Thank the Angels that's Paige was looking down at her phone and didn't see that. She looked up and grabbed my arm forcefully and dragged us out of the mall and all the way to the car. I barely had time to grab the bags and stuffed the recipe in my pocket. The whole ride home she had this pissed look on her face. I really didn't want to get home. When we got home I went straight up stairs and into the room.

She usually stayed down stairs for a while. So I took the receipt out of my pocket and look at it. In a blank space at the bottom it had written 'if you ever want to ditch the bitch call me' and his number written under it. I smiled but my smile soon faded when I heard Paige coming up. But I was too late, I tried to hide the paper but she saw it and snatched it out of my hands.and tore it up.

Her hand hit my cheek with the most force she could hit. It stung like really bad and more tears were falling.

"Your lucky I'm in a good mood or else I would have punished you." And with that she left the room slamming the door behind her . I let out a relieved sigh, I was glad that that was all I got.

      I can't get that guy out of my head, his smile his eyes just everything. Thinking about him put a slight smile on my tear stained face. I wanted to see him again but that would never happen. That's was probably the only time I was ever going to see him.

     This was how it was and how it was meant to be. I deserved what i got. It was my fault right? I mean I'm the one who smiled at him. I sat there in the corner tears running down my face. If you haven't guessed by now, I am gay.
