My name is Vanessa Monroe. How old am I again? Right, nineteen. I'm a model, I started modelling when I was seventeen. I balance celebrity life with school and my family or, let's say.. general life, I have to, if not it's goodbye modelling.

My best friend's Juliana Fay. She's also a model, but we work under different fashion labels, and different magazines. She's my best friend and apart from being a model, she's also an investor in  Western education and funds for the less fortunate.

Before all the glitz and glamour my life wasn't really fabulous. My dad was an accoutant, and my mum made those little dresses you could wear anywhere, a lot of them. Casual dresses. She had her own dress shop and sold pretty neat clothes that she herself made.

We were just a normal family, until one day, mum made me wear a blue and pink striped kimono and a jean short with a pretty peach top, to school, so that the other girls would see it and hopefully like it, in order to promote her business.

Our school was having problems funding most of the programmes we conducted. So one of the general heads of Style magazine came to invest in our school. When he saw the way I strutted down the hall, he called me and hired me to work for his magazine. I also worked for some fashion labels like Victoria Secret, which was where I met Juliana, and Louis Vuitton.

By the ending of last year, I quit my job at Style magazine and began working as a Vogue model.

My dream job has always been to be a medical doctor, to live in a really huge house, and to go on regular trips to the Bahamas with my family, but news flash, I'm a nineteen year old model, I have a really big house and I go on regular trips to different parts of the world to do photo shoots and shoot commercials and what not. It's not bad at all. It's just that you can't go anywhere without people mugging you.

One time, I went out with Cassedey(Cass as I call her; she's one of the models that work with Vogue magazine),  to get a burger and the burger guy recognised us and told us to wait. So we did. Right.

Then after a while, he came out of the back door of the burger outlet. Right........I can't say this.......okay...
He came out, with a questionaire and placed it infront of Cass and I.

The questions were;
A) Are you a lesbian?
B) Do you snore when you sleep?
C) Which would you prefer a rich guy or a guy that's good in bed.
D) What's the least gift you'll accept from a guy.
E) Do you find me attractive?

I couldn't believe what I saw when I read that. No doubt he was pretty cute, but for him to do what he did, he's obviously pretty dumb.

Cass got so mad at the guy, she threw her burger right in his face. And told him to his face that he was a lowlife imbecile that didn't have any future ambition. He was really sad, he almost cried.

When he say me just stand there, he asked me what I was doing there just standing. He asked me if this was how I wanted to show teens that they had potentials, by watching their emotions get stepped on. And those words stung me like a bee. That's when I switched my blog from 'Teen Vlog' to 'Chic City'.

What? Did I forget to leave out the fact that I have a blog. Well there you go, I have a blog. I always fancied having a blog, but unlike other bloggers, I don't use mine to spread gossip, or to talk about how great my life is going. No.

I use it to inspire teenage girls to be the best they can be, to let them know that what matters is inner beauty, and that if people put you down, you just have to pop back up, plus I also give good tips on how to make a killer pie.

Anyway peolple seem to misunderstand my message. If I fail modelling, it's like I'm inspiring young girls to start something really good and then quit. And if I stop blogging, my fans and the teen girls out there that I help, that I touch through my blog  will be disappointed in me.

I've come so far in both areas and there's just so much at stake, there's no room for error, and if I don't pull through, it is going to be a disaster.

Guess that's the complication...in Being Vanessa Monroe.
