From the doorway, Leon can see her profile. Her hair is a mess of waves and her smile is radiant as the sun as she fully enters, smiling widely at Leon. All Leon can think is this must be a dream; it has to be a dream. Girls that you once had a crush on don't just waltz into your dorm without it being a dream, right? But then she talks and it's like the wave of reality comes crashing in, sending Leon into a fit of joy.

"You must be my roommate. I'm Violetta and you are?" Leon was already on his feet in honest surprise, ready to greet Violetta with open arms, but the fact that she doesn't recognize him is a blow to his ego.

"You don't remember me?" He might just explode because this once in a lifetime opportunity is happening right before his eyes, and yet the girl of his dreams has no recollection of who he is.

She tilts her head at the question, studying his face and then raking her eyes from the tips of his Converse to the ends of his hair. She shakes her head and Leon really is becoming cynical. He can only stare at her, somehow hoping that maybe if he stares long enough she'll remember who he is.

"Sorry? I don't think I do."

"We went to school together for four years. We had history every year." It's his last defense and if that isn't enough to jog her memory, that's it. The last straw. She truly doesn't remember him, not even a bit. She squints as she gives Leon another once over, but her facial expression is enough to know that she still has no idea who Leon is.

"Sorry, I really don't remember you." Leon feels pathetic. He knew he wasn't well known around the school, but he would have at least thought Violetta could remember his face seeing as they did have a class together for four years. He sighs in defeat, extending his hand to try and make amends.

"In that case, I'm Leon." She gladly accepts his hand, smiling again after Leon's little breakdown. Their hands fall back to their sides and an awkward silence is left in the room. "So... It's getting late, huh?" Not the best approach, but it's something.

"Yeah, I had a last minute errand that I had to run that ended up going on way longer than I expected, but hey, I made it. In one week's time, we'll officially be college students. Isn't it exciting?"

"Very." Again, the silence and Leon thinks he needs some time to think things over. "I told a friend of mine I'd go over to his dorm after I finished packing. I'm going to go do that." He's not sure why he made up this whole lie when he could have easily said he was going to get fresh air, but it's been said and done. He closes the door behind him and thumps the back of his head on it for being an idiot.

The campus is quiet at a quarter to eight. Leon strolls through the dark pathways with his hands in his jean pockets wondering why this has to happen to him. Of all the people in the world, he gets paired with Violetta. He spent the whole summer telling himself he didn't need her. She was stored in the back of his mind, locked away in a box that was never mean to be reopened. Now, here she is, totally ruining his plans.

Don't get him wrong, he actually likes that idea of living with her, but he's not sure how this is going to play out. Considering the circumstances, this is pretty much like starting over. Lean can literally change who is in an effort to make Violetta like him. Though he doesn't know if it'll do any good to be something he isn't. Plus, she could already be in a relationship and his efforts would be in vain.

He stops in his tracks to mentally slap himself silly. He's getting ahead of himself. He should not be falling back for her charms. His feelings for her are supposed to be long gone, forgotten in the wind. He will not go back down that path, not this time. He doesn't need the disappointment.

With heavy footsteps, he continues down the sidewalk, deciding that he might as well head back to the dorm. He manages to make it about halfway before crashing into someone. He had been too focused on the ground in front of him and now on the ground is another familiar face he didn't know he would see today.

"Andres?" Andres glances up at his name and laughs as Leon helps him up.

"How's it going bro?" He says it so nonchalantly, like they were meant to run into each other.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were going to be going to a school in Connecticut." Andres shrugs, lugging an arm over Leon as they head back to the dorms.

"Well, I was supposed to, except I forgot the registration deadline and ended up missing it by like a week, so I had to find another school. I thought why not the school where my best friend is going." Leon punches his shoulder playfully because he's actually quite happy about this.

"Some best friend I am if you didn't even tell me."

"I wanted to be a surprise. Since you sent me your dorm information, I was planning on heading over there right now."

"Too bad for you, I wasn't even in my room and then what would you have done?"

"Probably wait around to see if you did show up. Although, why are you out so late anyway?"

"I needed some fresh air." By now, they've reached the entrance of Leon's dorm hall, but he still doesn't think he's ready to confront Violetta yet. "Do you think maybe I could sleep over at your tonight?"

"What your roommate not to your standards." Oh has he got a story for Andres.

"I wouldn't say that..."
