I walked closer to the gate. Sigh. I have seen this sight for how many centuries already but I never got tired of seeing this. The gigantic gate made of gold shining under the heaven's light stood here with magnificence. I snapped out of my reverie when someone poked my shoulder.

"Yes?" I looked at the being who was poking me. My eyes widened and though I can't see my face I know I paled.

"Awoo~"

"Gaah!" Startled by the black floating being beside me I unknowingly started shooting balls of white light at it. Not knowing at all that I am already hitting the gate making it open forcefully. I heard a creaking sound which made me stop. "Uh oh."

*flash*flash*

"Punishment of 2 years of not being allowed to enter heaven for destroying the gate and another 2 years for trying to enter heaven without permission." I turned to the owner of the voice.

"Youichi! No, you are misunderstanding things! Hotaru stop taking pictures of me!" I frantically tried to grab her camera.

*bang!*bang!*

"Ow!" I groaned. A loud thud was heard and the ground shook. From the corner of my eye I saw her holding her smoking baka-gun and the gates knocked down.

"Another 5 years for entering the gate even with the punishment of not being able to and for completely destroying the gate." I stared in disbelief at the ashen haired boy in front of me busy scriblling something in his large book of records. "All in all, it is a nine year punishment." He closed the book and stared at me blankly with his pale blue eyes.

"B-but... You know I didn't mean to do it! The-there's a black floating thing emitting a dark aura! I tell you it's an accident and if Hotaru didn't shoot me it wouldn't have been destroyed completely and I wouldn't have been flown inside!"I desperately tried to reason and fight for my innocence.

"Will I be punished for destroying the gate." Hotaru asked or more like stated.

"No you won't Hotaru-nee it is just a self defense." She patted his head and gave him a candy. Upon seeing the candy, the child's eyes sparkled with excitement. He quickly let go of the book,but the ghost was quick to catch it and Youichi quickly grabbed the candy.

My mouth hung open. This is what happens when you put a 3 year old child as the gate keeper. I mentally face palmed. Highest god what were you thinking when you put Youichi in this role. I saw the black ghost lurking behind them. I forgot Yuichi can summon bad spirits. How stupid of me to panic seeing an evil spirit here, but not to worry if it is Youichi who summoned it expect that they are tamed ones. I sighed in defeat, but thanks to them though my nervousness went down a little. Natsume you idiot, if you are not my best friend I wouldn't really care for you this much.

"Awoo~?" The ghost flew near me and lend its free hand, well if it can be called a hand. I reached for it and pulled myself up and muttered. "Thanks." Maybe I'm just so nervous back then that I became so jumpy in small things. The black thing flew back to Youichi's side whose currently walking toward me with questioning eyes.

"Okay, I know what you want to ask. Natsume's not with me. He doesn't want to come here, back home." Though I hate to see this child's dejected face I think it's better telling the truth than a lie. He looked at me with a sad face. "But!...., No worries! He'll be back later." I muttered to myself."I'll make sure of it." a rare smile formed on his lips.

It can't be helped. Natsume is like a big brother or more like a father to Youichi they're quite close enough to make me jealous of their relationship......sometimes, especially back then when Youichi's just a new born god they immediately became close. Well you can't blame me we have always been together and inseparable until this little dude came. Oh I forgot to tell, Youichi is the patron god of orphans. He might be a 3 year old kid but don't under estimate him he's a genius and dangerous when ticked off like Natsume.

I crouched to match his height and when I did he immediately wrapped his tiny arms around my neck. I hugged him back and stood up carrying him. If I know he just misses Natsume that badly. He doesn't usually cling onto others but with Natsume. "Don't worry he'll be back home this evening and you can play together.

"Really?" He asked uncertainty is clear in his voice.

"Yes, really. He's just down in the dumps today but once he'll feel better he'll come back home for sure." I tried to reassure him. I felt him hugging me tighter. I let out a sigh.

"You're really good with kids bunny boy, I wonder why that old man didn't give the title of god of children." Hotaru stated a matter of factly.

"Err...thanks?" Youichi handed me his candy wanting me to open it. "I hope this isn't an aging candy Hotaru-kami." I asked nervously. I can still remember one time when she gave Youichi an aging candy making Youichi grew 11 years older yet acting like a 3 year old. The whole heavens was in chaos, swooning women appeared everywhere. That was one of the ol' fun and chaotic times.

"Don't worry I didn't. I just gave that to him to cheer him up. He seemed very down while guarding the gates and I took him to a walk." I sighed in relief and gave Youichi the red candy which he immediately popped in his mouth.

"Oh that explains why both of you are together."

"Well where is the subject of that child's depression?" I just gave her the look of you-know-where. "Still down there huh. If he wants to change others view of him, he should be here and be good."

"I always tell him that."

"Yeah, I know. You are like a mother scolding her mischievious son." She rolled her eyes. I blushed in return. "Well I better go now."she spread her pure black wings then in a moment she is enveloped in a blinding light. Once the light subsided her once short neck length raven hair became very long which ended just above her heel and her human clothing changed to a goddesses clothe. Her purple robe matched her amethyst colored eyes. In short she changed to her goddess form. The goddess of wealth.

My eyes widened in alarm. "Wait you're already leaving?" She cocked an eyebrow. "Yeah why?"

"What about the gate?! If somebody else will see that gate in that state..." As if on cue we heard a pair of wings. "......they'll surely panic."

"Ka-KAMI!!!, What in the heavens happened to the sacred gate!" Uh oh. I know that voice. Jinno-kami.
