Everybody Lives
Log #1 Jan 21, 2018
We had all been happy in the afterlife. No one bothered and we were able to do whatever we want, whenever we want. Speaking for myself, I had been in the afterlife since I was sixty-seven. I have aged, but not in the way you do on earth. I started out wrinkled and wise with ancient poems and really- not many worries. But as time increased, my age decreased. So now I am twelve years old, with skin as new as a sapling of a tree and a mind that was bound to learn more along its journey.
Sorry if that came off a little bit quickly. I think now is a good time to kindly introduce myself. I am Willow Imagrian, and now that you know my name, I think it's best to get on with the story.
You may think this is a good thing- this whole aging process. You may think, 'Oh, well the pain leaves and you look newer than a fresh baked cookie!'. Yes! I can't stretch it enough, how true these statements are. But there is the day; the day all of us dread for. Once we are young enough, not even a day old, we go back to the real world.
When I was sixty-seven, I had the brain of a genius. I knew the answers to comprehensive questions and mathematical equations. But as I forwarded in time, I found myself forgetting formulas and reading at a much slower pace. Growing young has its disadvantages. While the physical pain does seem to leave, the more mental and emotional pain creep in and tickle your brain. I find myself to lament and weep much more often. I wasn't sure if it was because I was growing to be a hormonal young girl or because I was so scared of the day I must go back.
Log #2 April 13, 2023
I am seven years old. My life seems as if it's going faster and faster with every ticking second. I'm being consumed in a matterless black hole of complete fear. I quiver at this thought. Every aggravating moment that is spent wasted, I scream and stutter my plead for mercy. Claws lacerated my esophagus and my eyes have grown sore from weeping.
Due to my inability to jot down how I feel when I am much younger, this will be my last log until I come to age in the real life. Emotions wave over me; I am apprehensive. Would it be wrong to say that I don't know what to do? My peers all seem so nonchalant; but I know that on the inside, they are just as worried as I.Log #3 July 28, 2039
Nine years old now- that's how long I have had to rot in this earth. The real world is scary. The afterlife me was very smart, to keep these logs and dates set up. I don't know how I found it, it just kind of- appeared, ya' know? The people here act as though they are idiotic. They get themselves into trouble and they joke about subjects that make others cry. Really quite irrelevant.
I am much more reclusive than most of the other people. I am enrolled in a third grade class with what seems like millions of querulous children. My teacher says I am precocious, which makes me rather happy. I will update this once I find a true reason too.

The reason I am creating this log is because I have found myself slip into something that was rather unexpected. I think it's love. This warm, fuzzy feeling blankets me when I am around this guy who is as incredibly intelligent as I. My mother is amicable and my father would prefer to censure this topic. I think the reason I love this man is because he is as mad as a hatter; like me.
He knows something that separates him from the crowd. Fancy me mad but I know for a very certain fact that he does! If I am not wrong, then I do believe that he knows about the afterlife. Maybe he is the one for me... I hope he is.

I just got married to the man of my dreams, Dillan Norris. Someone who is as benevolent and caring as he is hard to find. We are planning to have our very first kid soon. Though there are many cheerful events, my mother is on her deathbed taking her last few breaths. I fear her death. She is not ready to go to the afterlife, as am I. My father is very busy with his studies and work. I find it rather depressing that he hasn't taken any time to visit his own wife.
I believe there is another woman he is investing his time in. This breaks my heart. I can't recall how many times I have cried over this. How could he make such a haughty decision? Why would you promise love to someone for eternity then leave them for people who act as though they are a novice compared to the one you love?! Their love is spurious. But I must continue on with life as it goes.

My mother had passed on a cold December day. Everyone seemed to grieve her death, which was unusual because she was rather introverted and didn't speak with to much people. Beside that, we had our beautiful young girl, Ivery Norris. She seems to scrutinize everything and take everything into accountability. I find it so rancorous that she had only seen her very grandmother in her worse state of mind and physical ability. But everything happens for a reason right?

My beautiful Ivery is graduating from college today. She is so very smart and prudent. I know she is going to go far in life. But I am very mournful to know that I don't get to experience it all with her. Because to be honest, I am completely frightened of my own death. I am nearing it because I am now forty-eight, wise and diligent. I have seen the problems that mother nature has put me with.
I know at the beginning of these logs, I didn't want to leave the afterlife. Now I fear entering it. I have grown used to the clutter and crazy catastrophe down here on earth. I see the amount of friendships and happiness it has in it. It's like I am insane; I can't decide what I want! The stories that I had once found mundane, now fill me with absolute delight. I didn't think I was ever going to let this slip from my vocal chords, but I love it here. I learn things instead of lose them, I go through trials that make me stronger instead of growing weak.
This may be one of my last logs, I will update it when I feel it's necessary.

I have lived a happy life. I have a beautiful daughter who is now discovering her destiny all the way across the country. She calls daily to check in; I fear for the day I will not be answering. My entire body is sore from laying on the hospital bed for hours, sometimes even days at a time.
Dillan is supporting every move I make. I do believe that due to the condition I am in, he will pull the plug that sustains my life. As I lay on the same hospital bed as my mother, I play back the memories we shared as a child. I had started out as confident as a chirping bird and grown to be more insecure than others. I'm stuck in a useless paradox.

This will be my last log in the waking life. Dillan has decided to pull the plug so I don't need to suffer. I am scared to go back. I fear my death very much. It is something that must be done; I can't escape the ending of a story.

The afterlife hasn't changed a bit. I find myself enjoying the constant presence of joy and happiness. It was foolish of me to believe that Earth was truly the place for me. I don't believe that there will ever be a time for me to go back to that treacherous carnival. I am scared to go back to it, but I know it is unescapable. Everyone has to go through this process, even the goody-two-shoes. I shouldn't be complaining. Afterall, everybody lives.
