"Class, we have a new student and I want you guys to treat her with the utmost respect. Okay?" Mrs. Hines stated.

"Okay." The class stated in unison.

"I wonder how this new student looks, probably ugly." Morris exclaimed rudely.

"Shut up, Morris." Prince said under his breath.

Morris began to laugh under his breath.

"Class, this is Lenora."

"Hi." Lenora states shyly.

"Well hello to you, mama. Let me get them digits." Morris said.

Lenora scoffed.

"There's a seat next to Prince. He'll be your partner in this class for the rest of the school year." Mrs. Hines said and pointed towards Prince.

Lenora looked directly at Prince and walked to the seat next to him then sat down.

"Hi, I'm Prince." He said softly with a smile.

"Nice to meet you, Prince. I'm Lenora." Lenora replied.

"Okay you guys, this isn't a cafe get back to work." Mrs. Hines exclaimed.

Mrs. Hines soon went back to her desk and began to file papers.

"So where are you from?" Prince asked.

"I'm from Houston." Lenora replied.

"Texas? Ah, so you a country girl huh?" Prince asked teasingly.

"I guess." She chuckled.

Morris then walks over to their desks and gets in the conversation.

"Sooooo Lenora, how about you hang with me after school?" Morris asked snobbishly.

"No thanks I'll pass so don't ask me again." Lenora replied sternly.

Prince couldn't help but to laugh to himself. The way Morris's face dropped amused him greatly.

"And you just gonna sit here and laugh at my face like that, Skipper? The disrespect." Morris stated dramatically.

Morris walked off and Prince began to apologize.

"I'm sorry about Morris. He can be obnoxious sometimes." Prince stated semi-embarrassed.

"Sometimes? You sure it's just sometimes?" Lenora asked doubtfully.

"You're right it's all the time."

They both laughed and then for a moment they stared at each other but then they both looked down shyly.

"Well, it was nice meeting you, Prince." Lenora said.

"It was nice meeting you too, Lenora."

Lenora began to gather her things and began to walk to the door.

"See you tomorrow, Prince." She said sweetly.

She walked out of the class and made her to the next class.

Prince still sat there trying to gather himself.

"Lenora.....so pretty and sweet. Lenora...." He thought to himself.

"Hey! Come on man, snap out of it we're about to be late. Get to moving, Skipper." Morris exclaimed.

He got up and gathered his things then headed off to the next class. For the rest of the day, he couldn't take his mind off of her and neither Lenora take her mind off of him.

"Prince, he's so kind. Short but still very sweet and his voice....yes. I think I like him but hey who knows what's in store for later."
