Thanos appeared seemingly out of nowhere, boarding the Asgardian ship and slaughtering half its people. Thor, Evelyn, Loki, Heimdall, and the Hulk were left to confront the Mad Titan and his children, while the Valkyrie escaped with the remaining Asgardian survivors in pods.
As the fight ended, Thanos approached the battered God of Mischief and demanded the Tesseract—the glowing cube harbouring one of the Infinity Stones, the Space Stone. With ease, one of his children picked up the cube and handed it to the Mad Titan, who then obliterated the ship, sending debris spiralling into space. The fallen gods floated silently, adrift in space, appearing dead.
