The sun was scorching hot today. But then, it was hot every day for more than 60% of the year. The only relief from the heat was the coolness inside the caves on the mountainside. And that was where 5 very important girls were gathered during this day.
The caves presided just a little ways from their city, but a little way was better than no way at all.
The girls were knelt in a small circle towards the entrance to the cave. They had forgotten to bring candles, but when they returned that night they would be sure to bring some.
Stactalites hung above their heads and water dropped somewhere in the dark recesses of the cave. It provided a nice, peaceful rhythm as the girls murmured the words that were so precious to their hearts.
As they ended the girls opened their eyes an beamed at one another. They were now ready to face the day with the help of their God.
These girls prayed every day and night in that cave. And nothing had changed in their rutine for many years.
