The Ranger, a schooner, had been at sea for a week and a half. It had set sail from Japan, beginning its voyage across the Pacific. Adam Grahams stood on the deck with the other five teenagers on the trip. The captain and his two crew members faced the teens.

Captain Damian was a short, powerfully built man.  Tanned from his years at sea, his short cropped hair and beard more gray than black now.  "It seems," the captain started in his deep voice," that the motor has given out.  To make matters worse, the calm that forced us to use the motor shows no signs of letting up."  The six teens groaned in unison.

The captains first mate, Dwight, grinned with his crooked teeth.  "Don't you cupcakes worry, I'll be sure to keep you busy."

Dwight was man of average height, if a bit overweight.  Greasy, shortish red hair sat on his head.  The teens had quickly come to despise Dwight.  He was short tempered, crude, and acted seriously indecent around the girls, all of whom were underaged.  The crewman beside him was Randall.  Randall was all around average.  He always had a wide brimmed sailors hat.  He rarely spoke, and spent most of his time writing in a small book.

As the Dwight explained the schedule to the teens, Adams gazed wandered to the other teens.

Haley, a short, blonde girl who enjoyed talking a little to much.  Adam had taken a liking to Haley, her constant chattering filling the boring days at sea.

Next to her, stood a bear of a kid.  Nearly 6'4 with longish blonde hair, the guy was literally a bear of a kid.  Though by no means fat, the kid had a heavy build.  Like Randall, the dude barely spoke.

Then there was Henry.  Henry.  What a douchbag.  The guy was a little short, with a stocky frame.  Dirty blonde hair in a cowlick only made the cocky smirk on his face even more douchy.

Next was Cara.  That girl was a bit off.  Black hair that went over one eye in slight curls.  Lots of makeup with bright red lipstick.  She was the only girl who didn't gag when Dwight tried to flirt.  In fact, she actually flirted back.  Adam shook his head.

Madison was the last girl.  About the tallest a girl could be and still be considered short.  Slightly messed up red hair hung halfway down her back.  A small smattering of freckles across her nose.  Adam had an instant crush on her.

Finally, there was himself, Adam.  About 6 feet tall, with a v-shaped, lithe body.  Average length brown hair swept to the left.  Dark green eyes akin to a canopy of leaves with the sun glowing behind them.

Adams musing was interrupted by the captain.  "Go ahead and go for a swim while we try to get the motor fixed.  Can't have you boys and girls getting out of shape." the captain stated.

Adam sighed as the teens walked to their suitcases.  He had been hoping to catchup on some sleep.  He shrugged.  'Guess the captains right.  Hope we can get the motor back on soon', he thought to himself.  The trip could only get better, right?
