The Day Lucy forgot

Chapter 2: The night before the job

I fell asleep in Lucy's lap. 'She smells so good..' my name was being called and I woke up to Lucy telling me we arrived to the city. We got off the train and I stayed a little bit behind Lucy and Happy because I couldn't stop thinking about Lucy. "Natsu, are you coming or what?" Lucy said while she waited for me. "Uh yea, Luce sorry".

We found the closest hotel and bought a room for the night. "Tomorrow we have to meet with the our client in the morning, so get some rest" she said looking at me and Happy.

"Yea yea, I know Luce"

"I'm going to take a shower. No peeking pervert!!"

"I won't, I don't know why you say that every time."

She jumped in the shower, me and Happy talked while she was in there.

"Hey Natsu"

"What is it Happy?"

"Do you like or love Lucy? Lately, you've been hugging her and you have been asking her to go on jobs with you and you go without me."

"Well Happy... I think I do... She lights up my day, her smile is so beautiful, Luce is wonderful and I would give up my life to save her..."

"I didn't know you were such a charmer, you're not really good with that stuff Natsu."

"Only if I could tell her how I feel, maybe, just maybe she feels the same way about me.."

Lucy walked out of the bathroom dressed in a blue shirt and a black skirt with a messy bun. She still looked good, even without trying.. "What are you guys talking about?" She said when she walked out

"Uhh food because we are hungry and we were hoping you would be able to make us some if you didn't mind" I said quickly

"Ugh, you're lucky it's still early and the store near by is open. I will go buy some and make dinner for us." She said

"THANK YOU, LUCY!!" Happy and I yelled together.

I gave her money, and we walked out because I didn't trust her going alone. I couldn't lose her. We got to the store and bought some really good stuff. We headed back to the hotel and Lucy started to prepare dinner. I felt kinda bad that she was making it because she didn't seem like she wanted to make dinner.

She finished dinner and handed us our plates. I looked down and saw how beautiful the food looked and she gave me twice as much as she had. She knew I would eat more than her. Maybe she does like me...

We got ready for bed, Lucy was in pajamas and I just took my vest off to show my abs because you know they are amazing. She laid down on the only bed, "Natsu, wi..will you sleep on the bed with me?..." She said quietly

"Me? Uhh I guess.."

I got in the bed with her and I laid next to her. This is really unexpected, first she's combing my hair with her fingers, now she's asking me to sleep next to her. "Is something wrong Luce?" I said nervously.

"Yea...just ever since Aquarius... I haven't been able to sleep and I've been lonely lately.."

"Wait.. What happened to Aquarius?"

"Natsu, during the battle of Tartaros, I called the Celestial Spirit King, and because I did that Aquarius's key broke... I can't call her anymore..."

I was in shock... I've been gone for a year, we finally got the guild back together and now she tells me Aquarius is gone... I left her all alone... I'm a douche.

"Luce, I'm so sorry... Why didn't you tell me before?"

"Because I didn't know if I would ever see you again, Natsu..."

She started to cry and I put my arm around her and she snuggled up to me and we fell asleep. The best part about that night was cuddling her to sleep. I feel bad for leaving... I just couldn't lose her, I had to get stronger. I just had too.
