I woke up to the smell of smoke. I get up and walk over to the entrance of my hut and see the fire. My clan is up early today... Why? I walk over to my best friend's hut.
"Why is everyone up so early?" I asked him.
"Hunting didn't go well yesterday, they didn't get much food and with the cold already coming that's bad. The animals will die, the crops won't grow, we won't have food." He responded.
"Oh" I feel stupid.
"JAMES? JAMES! Are you up yet we need to get hunting right away!" Said Mentook the best hunter in our clan.
"Well that's my cue to leave. See ya later Stacy!" James winked at me and left the hut.
Some would say he likes me but what do they know we're just friends.
I leave Jame's hut and go get some breakfast by the fire, salmon cakes again. While I'm eating Ryan, the hot know it all comes over to me.
"Hey girl, wanna go down to the lake with me?" He asks
If I were any other girl I would have said yes and been so happy but I'm not any other girl so...
"Umm yeah...NO I have better things to do than hang out with you." I say as I walk away after I finish my food. Bungony the fisher goes to the lake with his rod to fish. Mildah and Junguha are farming the last of what was planted three months ago. The backers son Will, my other best friend walks up to me.
"Hi Stacy!" He says.
"Hi Will."
"Sooooooo, I was wondering if you would like to go to the lake with me...?"
"I would love to but I can't. I have to go help I with casting the spirt of Frinder away." I replied.
Santoraco is the clan Mage, she dose all the magic. Oh yeah and uh, I'm her assistant. Frinder was one of the hunters before he was attacked by a bear and injured badly, he was living longer that my clan thought he would but a few days ago he passed.
" oh yeah...uh ok. Well see you later then!" He said sadly.
