Two young girls leaped from wall to wall. One had light creamy brown hair with pink on top just like a donut. She had wonderfully sun-kissed skin and pink eyes, but not in a creepy way. The other girl had fire red hair and emerald green eyes with almost albino skin. They bounced back and forth and burst out in laughter every time someone walked into the room. From the spot they had climbed up to, everyone down below looked like ants. However, that was to be expected in a room that is thirty feet tall. They peered down at the people and some one of them, a woman, calling them down. They each took hold of a railing and dragged themselves down. Of course, dragging yourself down a pole isn't hard when you're weightless.

When they finally got to the floor, the woman pulled the donut haired girl to the side and whispered harshly into her ear. "Now say goodbye to your friend. You still have to practice for school tomorrow." The woman turned the donut haired girl towards the fire haired girl and held her firmly in place.
"I'm sorry Skimer. I have school tomorrow and it's the placement test. Now that I'm ten I have to practice more and pass the tests so that I can get a good position when I'm sixteen." The donut haired girl finished her explanation and the woman loosened her grip.

"But Donut-"

"Call her by her real name!" The woman scolded.

"Fine!" Skimer shouted, anger burning in her eyes. "Eina, why do you have to study now? The important placement test isn't for another six years."

Eina turned towards Skimer, and Skimer saw the sympathy in Eina's eyes. Eina turned back around and quickly pulled herself across a railing until she had turned the corner and was out of sight.

"Thanks for letting Eina play with me, Mrs. Baker." Skimer said, trying to hide the anger in her voice. She then turned toward the door and took hold of a railing. She then pulled herself over until she was in front of her gravity boots. They had finally finished charging and she could now go back to the military base. She slipped on her boots and tugged at the straps until she could feel them hugging her ankles. The noon shuttle to the military base wouldn't come for about five more minutes so she had plenty of time to walk to the stop. She opened the door, slipped out, and quickly shut the door behind her. She set out towards the shuttle stop and sat on the bench for two minutes before it arrived. Once it had arrived, she walked on and choose a seat at the back. Several other people came on and sat themselves as close to the front as possible. The shuttle jerked as it reattached itself to the railings and starting driving in the direction of the base.

Once it had arrived, Skimer waited for everyone else to get off then she got off and ran towards the building. She looked behind her to see the shuttle leaving and in the path she had run, dirt stayed floating in the air. She walked to the building and pulled out her card. She slid in the side with her name and the titanium door opened just wide enough for her to get in. Once inside, she ran down the halls until she arrived at room 109. She walked in and was greeted with the slobbery tongue of her dog. She took off her boots to let them charge and swam through the air with her dog.

"Skimer!" Her mother called out.

Skimer turned and swam towards her mother who pulled her down so they could talk face to face. "Hey, Mom. What's up?"

"You have to go to bed, school starts at three a.m. and you know how exhausting fifth grade is. Your sister has told you all sorts of stories on how much training you have to do now that they're testing you for next year's classes. Go to bed and go to sleep."

"But it's only noon, can't I at least watch a movie or play a game. Maybe I could play with the sink water again." Skimer pleaded.

"If you insist on staying up," her mother grinned, "then you can clean up all the dirt you brought inside."

"Nevermind! Sleep's good, I love sleeping! Now that you say it, I have to admit I'm tired." Skimer said quickly. She then turned around and quickly swam to her bedroom. She changed into her 'I'm cool!' pajamas and climbed into bed. She kept the sheets two inches from herself and stared at the wall until she finally fell asleep.
