A Strange World

Chapter 1

The world has changed dramatically... Mythical creatures lived around every corner. Normal people are not so normal anymore and have different powers. It is rare to find a human with no powers. For most went into hiding. Fearing the world outside. But maybe the world is more beautiful than expected?

Eren P.O.V
I equip my mechanical wings preparing for a test flight. I look down from the tall hill with the river not so faraway. I backed up getting in position. I took the leap of faith. It triggered the wings causing them to open. It worked! Or so I thought... The wings soon folded back in making me zoom towards the ground! I scream "WATCH OUT"! A figure turns toward me hearing my screams but it was too late, I crashed into the creature causing us both to groan in pain. I look down at the creature realizing it was a dragon hybrid. His wings spread out and tail on the side. That's strange. Usually dragon hybrids have dragon ears. What do they even go by? They obviously don't go by dragon hybrid cause that would be very worn out by now. Not cave dwellers since dwarves and mountain elves are a thing. Hmmm I wonder... "U-Uh hello? C-Can you get off me?" A small voice asked snapping me out of my thoughts. "Oh sorry!" I exclaim scrambling to get up. The dragon hybrid boy gets up. Wow that's a mouth full... Dragon hybrid boy.  Man I really need to find out what they're called... Oh right the guy! He was waving a hand in my face trying to get my attention. " huh oh sorry did you say something?", I asked. "O-oh no n-nothing really. U-Um what's your name?" He asked shyly "Oh my name is Eren! Eren Takashi! And you are?", I exclaim. "I-Ian". Ian, what a nice name! He sounds like a lovely guy! " Nice to meet you Ian! Would you like to go to my camp site for dinner as an apology gift?", I ask as he simply shakes his head no. "N-no! It's ok really". Awww. I wish he said yes. I hate leaving people with no apology gift for almost running them over... I look to the side seeing Kira right there leaning against the tree. "Oh! Hey Kira! Didn't see you there.", I say causing Ian to look at her startled slightly. Kira slightly glared at me. She hated when she had to talk to strangers... She doesn't really trust them. Oh well. "O-Oh hello...", Ian said timidly. All Kira did was huff and got on both feet walking over to me. "Let's go Eren", she said calmly as she grabbed me by the wrist and started to drag me away. "But Kira! What about my new buddy!", I slightly whine trying to get to Ian. "I. Don't. Care.", she said in a harsher tone. " Ian do you want to hang out?", I asked before Kira dragged me too far. "S-sure I g-guess...", he says slowly walking towards us. Kira groans ," fine. He can come". Yaaay! Kira barely allows this to happen! It's probably because this one is more shy. "U gßrw nt kudw...", I hear Kira mumble. I slowly make out the words 'I hate my life' . "Don't say that Kira!", I exclaimed as Ian looks at me confused. After awhile of walking we made it back to camp which we set up in an abandoned cabin with two beds. Kira grabs her ocarina and a lighter to start a fire. Kira and I had hunted down a huge pig before I went to go test my wings, which were still on my back. Kira ,being the cook, started to roast the meat of the hog but did more since Ian was here. He seemed slightly more relaxed than when we first talked. He was drooling over the meat cooking right now. Do all dragons hybrids do that? I still need to find a name for dragons. What is it? Do they even have a name for it? I was swiftly snapped out of my thoughts by Ian talking to me ," So are you human? I mean human human". Oh yeah... I forgot that my species was rare now. "Yeah, I'm a normal human.", I say as Kira get the meat on plates muttering under her breath. Ian looked at me in awe, then at the food when handed to him and started drooling again. Ian started to eat. He used his manners and ate it carefully while Kira did her thing she always does before eating. She always says Itadakimasu before eating. She says it's a tradition her and her mother use to do together. I don't really judge. We finished our food, and I talked to Ian for a while before he went back home. I decided to sleep as Kira decided to pack up a little and clean up. I can't wait to talk to Ian tomorrow! Maybe I can ask what they call dragon hybrids? Oh well I'll find out in the morning.
Kira's P.O.V
I wish Eren wasn't so accepting to people. He thinks everyone is nice... I bet Aki would too... I watched as the sun started to rise. The only thing that is really the same in the new world is that. My family is... Dead I'm the last living Oshiro alive... Unless you count Koro, my brother, but he says he is nothing like me an is ,therefore not an Oshiro. Really I don't care about him. He ruin my happiness when he had the chance. I huffed out looking out at the beauty of the land. Most humans don't see it but even after the changes made the animals live the same law of life that it did so many years ago. I was 5 when the world changed. My family hid the powers we had before then not wanting to get killed for being the so called 'evil witches and warlocks'. But when everything changed we found a reason to show our powers. Lying was out only choice if we didn't want to die. I wish I could tell Aki and Jason the truth. . . My thoughts were interrupted by someone pouncing on me. In reaction, I pushed them off and got in fighting position. Thats when I realized it was only Xulion, a friend of mine who is a sorcerer. "Kira!", he yelped, " I found a beast that will destroy us! We have to go"! I give him a suspicious look. Last time he said that he was talking about a chicken. I ask him what this beast looked like just to be met with a definition of a cow. I huff telling him it's only a cow. "BUT WHAT IF IT FEEDS OFF SOULS! OR MAYBE SHIFT THE WORLD AND MAKES YOU FALL TO HELL!", Xulion exclaims. Xul is a great friend and great with potion... But he really needs to get out more. Ugh whatever. I need to eat I'm starving. Maybe I should talk to Xulion about it.
