I'm Trying The Best I Can

Chapter 1

"He is my kid too, you can't keep him away from me!" Taylor screamed while trying to get to Noah.

"You aren't even a father to Noah. You're always gone with MagCon that you don't even have time for your son."

I push Taylor and run to a crying Noah. I pick him up and grab his bottle. "It's okay baby. Mommy is here." He continues to cry and I lay him back down.

"Here, let me try." Taylor starts to walk towards me. "Don't even think about it."

"Please just let me try." I step out of the way and Taylor picks Noah up. "Hey baby boy. It's daddy. Everything is going to be okay." Noah stops crying and falls asleep in Taylor's arms. He lays him back down and walks over to me.

"See Ryder, Noah needs his dad. And I need you. I want to be here for both of you. I'm trying the best I can." He pulls me into a hug.

"I know you are but it's hard when you are gone for so long and I'm here alone to take care of him." He looks me into the eyes and I look into his.

"How about if you and Noah come and join us this time? I've already talked to Bart and he said it was okay. And you'd finally get to meet the guys. We would have our own room."

"I don't know. Noah is only 5 months old. That seems too young to be traveling."

Taylor grabs my hands. "Please Ryder. We can be a family this way."

"Hmm okay fine. But if something happens to him then me and Noah are leaving."

Taylor picks me up and hugs me. "Don't worry baby nothing will happen. Okay I'm going to go call the guys. Be ready by tomorrow morning."

He puts me down and grabs his jacket. "Wait Taylor, you aren't staying here tonight?"

"I mean I can go get my stuff ready and come back."

"What time are we leaving in the morning?"

He looked at his phone for a second. "We are leaving the house at 4 and have to be at the airport by 4:30."

"Okay. Bye baby, I'll be waiting."

He walked out the front door and I ran upstairs to get mine and Noah's stuff ready.
