Waking up to see Aarons face was great. It was deffinatly new and more welcoming then my mornings at home. I wish I could be like this forever. I dont understand why we wish, they never come true, yet for some reason we still wish. Just like on birthdays, we wish for something, never tell anybody, and my wishes still have not come true. if only I would be and do what I really and truely wanted. That would actually be a scary image. I imagined my world and how I would be if I could do whatever I wanted. Man a lot of people would be dead. Aaron groaned beside me and opened his eyes.
'What's up butter cup?' he smiled and kissed my forehead.
'Awwwwww that's it?' I pouted until he kissed me for real. 'Is that better?' I smiled and nodded tackling him and rolled us over so I was on top. Then I noticed the clock. 10:52. the guys usually get here at 11.
'Hey guess what? We have about 8 minutes to get ready before the guys get here.' We groaned, I ran to my room got dressed and ran down the stairs grabbing all the clothing that was flung on the couch and floor. Yikes we made a mess.
'Hey Myst, what are you doing?' Chase was the first to show up. 'Cleaning up... How's your morning been?' His confused face disappeared and he told me about his morning. I had finished cleaning up when Aaron and the rest of the boys had walked into the living area.
'Did you guys sleep here?' Andrew asked almost suspiciously. I and Aaron nodded. They all looked at each other, and then shrugged almost like they didn't really care. I let out a breath that I didn't remember I was holding, and walked to the kitchen, I was starving! I reached for the fridge door but before I had touched it something ran past my back faster than any human could have. I had only felt the wind. Quickly running into the living area where the boys were I saw that they had seen it or felt it too.
'What was that?' Aaron had been pretty much knocked back onto the couch by the way he was sitting it was easy to tell. We all stared at each other perplexed.
"That's what I'm wondering, no one could move that fast, I looked towards the door and it was open, I remember the boys had closed it, I knew they did. There was something happening. The ring on my right hand had started killing me almost like it was burning me, It glowed bright red and dimmed to the colour of blood. The guys stared at it with me and gathered around me.
"I think I know what is bothering us, remember that guy that came down the stairs fully dressed, in the mansion that we had last raided? He was way to quick, and his eyes were black, and he had worn one of these rings, do you think I should take it off?" We were all concentrating on this ring when it really started burning. I screamed trying to take it off but it was almost as if it was cemented to my hand. I fell to my knees as the guys helped me try and take it off. The ring was not moving, it was now a part of me. My blood had started dripping form underneath it, and I looked up to the boys, there was one to many of them. Those dark eyes captivated me, the guys hadn't noticed but I was face to face to face with this intruder. "Who the fuck are you!" I screamed in rage, and confusion.
"Well hello to you too, he violently reached out and grabbed my hand with the blood still streaming towards the floor. he stuck it in it mouth and his strength was immense as I struggled to get out of his grasp. I opened my mouth to talk to the boys but they had been frozen in their spots, not even breathing. I looked out the open door and the outside world had been frozen as well. A leaf froze air born in this fall season. how was this possible?
"How are you doing that?" I hadn't noticed the pain subsiding as he released my arm.
"It's a surprise." I looked down at my hand, the bleeding had lessened significantly, the wind had picked up and panic ensued again, he was gone when I looked back up. The guys were unfrozen along with the world, what had I gotten myself into?
"Hey you stopped bleeding, does it hurt still?" Aaron's face brightened at the quickening health of my hand, that had slowly began to turn purple. the fleshy colour had come back completely and it was blump and healthy with only residue of dried blood. The floor was another story. It was red as red can be. I needed to clean this up before it stained the hard wood floor.
Rushing into the Kitchen I ignored the constant questions form the boys and continued to clean my mess of blood. I had only answered when Aaron bent down near me and lifted my face oh so gently towards his.
"What happened?"I stared at the him.
"He was here." Whispering still washing my hand.
"What?"
"He was here, the world froze, you froze, everything froze and the guy from the house stood in front of me. He took my finger into his mouth and it stopped bleeding. I don't know... And then the world suddenly came back to normal and here we are." I explained it the best I could. I didn't know what had really happened myself as I stood there washing my hand, the event slowly escaped from my mind.
"Can you tell me in more detail?" I looked up drying my hand.
"No I actually can't. It's fading..." In minutes the memory was gone. The ring still remained attached to my finger.
"I should probably be getting home, you know my mom being the way she is." The guys waved towards me and I left to go home. The air was fresh and damp, making it a very smooth fall day. Still playing with the ring I showed up at my house already hearing my mother screaming in the phone probably to my aunt about how I never came home.
"She has been gone all night Cherry, I don't know where she stays... Yes I know.... I don't know her friends names, she hangs out with all guys though." I walked past her waving at her and went straight to my room.
"She's home now......" Is all I heard before closing my door and turning up the music on my radio. Laying down on my bed I closed my eyes for only a split second, reopening them to find the world frozen again.
"Do you like the ring?" He lay beside me on my bed, I didn't feel scared anymore to see him, it was almost friendly.
"It hurt but I guess it's healed now thanks to you. How did you do that in the first place?" He turned to look at me and i fully looked at him. His eyes were still completely black, along with his hair. He had no sign of a beard but I could tell he was around 20. He work a dark grey and black stripped long sleeve shirt and black jeans. His skin was so clear and fair, so amazingly pristine. Then he had his ring on, that red ring just like mine.
"So what is this?" He looked down as I pointed to his ring and then to mine.
"Well.... For one you stole it..." He stared at me like he was gonna punish a little kid. He seemed very intimidating.
