"Oh my god! Your finally here!" said Ally and jumped into Dan's arms.

"I know! I missed you to Ally. But it was only for 5 years." said Dan

"Well, it was long for me. You changed your hair! It is purple, Before it was blonde." 

"I know. I thought about a change in Christmas. Anyways, happy birthday!" said Dan

"I still can't believe that you could make it!" said Ally

"Its also the 4th of July, that gives another reason we are here." said Dan

"Thanks so much!" 

"Okay, enough of thanking me. Open your gift!" said Dan

The gift was heavy and wasn't wrapped in wrapping paper, instead it was tin foil.

"Oh my! You used... Tin foil? for what?" asked Ally

"Well, because this was a last minute present, I ran out of wrapping paper and was too late to go buy some. Anyways, I am pretty proud of how I wrapped it." said Dan

"I guess so." said Ally and opened the package inside their was Ally's favorite book: the fault in our stars. Ally always loved romance. Under it was a teal heart shaped speaker and white chocolate. Besides this was a binder with a cover picture of her and Dan sitting on swings. There was a 4th of July candle and lastly there was the 1st edition of the Hobbit. 

"Oh my! I love the fault in our stars! A speaker and chocolate and- Whoa! a binder with a picture of us!" bawled Ally

"Yup!" 

"Oh my god! Dan, thanks so much!" said Ally

"Okay, now lets have cake!" said Dan. Ally's mum brought out a snitch which had 18 written on it.

"You guys are amazing! Thanks Mum! This is the best cake ever!" shouted Ally

"Blow them!" said Adam. Adam was Ally's younger brother. He is the most annoying thing that came to her life.

"Wait. Let me make a wish." said Ally

"Wishes never  come true! but give it a try!" said Adam and there was Ally wishing in her head:

"I really wish that Dan loved me, just like I love him!" wished Ally and blew the candles.

Everyone was talking and eating cake. 

"After eating we are going to watch the 4th of July fireworks. Oh, did you know about Dan's new girlfreind ?" said Mum

"Dan's what?" asked Ally

"Dan started dating. I am surprised you don't know about it. Yesterday was his 5th year anniversary with her." said Mum and that broke Ally's heart. Ally loved Dan more than anything in the world! Adam was right. Wishes never come true.

"Oh! Congratulations, Dan. Whats her name?" asked Ally

"Her name is Dinah. She in fact came with me to New York with me. She had something up. She is coming to watch the fireworks." said Dan. Ally was looking forward to seeing how she was as a person. Ally rushed towards her room and picked up her phone. Of course! She was calling Camilla!.

Camilla is Ally's BFF in college. She was always there for her.

"Happy Birthday Ally! Whats up! I am on the way to your house." said Camilla

"The cake has been eaten and I need to tell you something." said Ally

"Girl, is this serious news? tell me." said Camilla

"You know Dan right? My childhood friend?"

"Yeah?" 

" You know when I always told you that i was in love with him?" said Ally

"Get to the point." 

"Dan started dating. Yesterday was his 5th year anniversary with her. Her name is Dinah and she came with him to NYC. She is coming to see the fireworks." said Ally

"I will be there." said Camilla and cut the call.
