"Soraya, are you there?" called out a little whisper from above.

The spunky young artist gazed up with her head in her hands and smiled as she greeted the warmth of her imagination. "It has a been while Theo, where have you been all these months? I have tried and tried to create wonderful work for the producers but everything seems so subliminal and ordinary when you are not around." she sighed in frustration.

"Oh, Soraya, I have been here all along I was just waiting on you to tell me when I could come out again and dance with the pens and paintbrushes of your canvas." Theo replied

She giggled at Theo, "Some days I wonder if I am just going crazy in this little corner where so much creativity sparks that even the swoosh of fire seems to appear. I miss the days when drawing was fun and I had no deadlines to meet. Growing up is not always easy and Theo I miss you more with each passing day." Soraya gazed upon her friend that had been there all those days when the world seem so dark but he brought a spark that lit everything in life up with simple sounds of brushstrokes on a page.

How had she gotten this far and lost the most important thing in the world her imagination she wondered. Theo had been there for as long as Soraya could remember. The day before the CEO called her to let her know she had been hand-picked out of all the artists in the company to collaborate on a project that would either make or break the companies current financial standings. Never had Soraya felt such pressure to get every brushstroke right because the future of the company was at stake.

Without Theo she was just another artist; drawing, painting, sketching and even occasionally daydreaming to make a scrap of a living. Soraya always knew that she could not take all the credit for how far she had gotten because the truth was the innovative imagination she had been gifted with was what paved the way for her to be doing what she loved. Never did she imagine as a little girl that she would be an artist for the animators of that created movies for children.

Even now as she sits at the drawing table surrounded with her favorite items something was still missing. Like always Soraya did not have the time to find out what was missing because business always took precedent over everything else in life. While everyone else was out playing, Soraya was honing the craft of art that she desperately hoped would help her out of the cold, dark, cruel streets of the ghetto she was dropped off on when her parent's died years earlier. Theo had been her only friend pushing her to be the best she could possibly be so that one day she wouldn't be scraping on the streets but rather sitting in a kitchen with food to feed her grumbling stomach. Theo knew every thought Soraya had since she lost her parent's; she had created world's in her mind where the story never ended with her parent's being stabbed violently to death. The thugs never got away and the cops came just in time to rescue the pieces of a family that had been torn apart by violence on the streets. Now in her moment where Soraya stood on a precipice that could literally lead her into everything she ever wanted, she faltered with the idea of success.
