Garroth walked out of Aphmau's house, staring at the ground instead of Laurence or Dante. He made a complete fool of himself at the party and he honestly had no idea why Aphmau was still friends with him. Honestly, why was he even trying to make Aphmau like him anyway?
"Why am I even trying to make her like me anyway?" Laurence asked, saying the exact same thing I was thinking about.
Still arrogant about his confidence around girls and flirting, Dante just grunted, not wanting to admit what a fool he made of himself.
The three boys decided to walk around the neighborhood, hoping for something that would take their minds off the party disaster they created.
And they did.
"Oh, Zane, this is too much!"
Garroth gave his two friends a look, silently sending them a secret message. What's going on?
Dante sent a silent message back. Well, let's figure it out.
So the three boys silently peeked behind the fence in front of Zane's house, trying hard not to laugh at the scene in front of them.
There was a girl on the doorstep of Zane's place, long yellow-brown hair dancing with the wind, wearing a cute Christmas sweatshirt. They couldn't see her face clearly from where they were sneaking, but her laughter was definitely cute. But what made them nearly die of hystericalness was Zane's flustered face, blushing completely red as if embarrassed about even being in front of the girl.
No way... Garroth thought this was nearly impossible, that a girl could possibly ruffle up his little brother, but now he felt a new sense of hope. That Zane could be nice again.
"N-no, really, it's f-fine," Zane stammered, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. Seriously, he slammered, a lot. "I-it's just a t-thank you gift for the gift you g-gave me before..." At once, his ice cold blue eyes grew gentle, as if reminiscing on a fond old memory.
The girl giggled again, light and clear as the wind in a hot summer's day. "Oh, it was nothing. You just looked so.... alone and I wanted to make you feel better. I'm glad you liked the little picture of the snowman. I know I'm not really a good artist..."
Zane looked shocked, no longer embarrassed. "What are you saying? The drawing was amazing! Nothing like I've ever seen in my life."
The girl didn't say anything for a time, but Garroth could guess that she was blushing now. "T-thank you. First the gift and now the compliment? You really are nice, Zane. I don't see how you don't have any friends."
Garroth stared at Laurence and Dante who gave him the same surprised look as well. Zane was considered nice? By a girl?
Zane was back to blushing like a maniac. "R-really, keep the gift. I-it's for you."
The girl was probably smiling by now, judging by how bubbly she sounded. "Aw, thanks, Zane. Really. You're the best." And with that, she did something that Garroth, Laurence, Dante, and even Zane would never ever think she would do ever in her life.
She kissed him.
On the cheek. (A/N: Sorry people, no kisses on the lips today. XD)
When she withdrew from him, she smiled sweetly, a bright sun in the enchanted winter wonderland. Somehow, the snow made her beautiful amber yellow eyes glow like flickering candles in a dark room. "I'll see you later, Zaney." Abruptly, she whirled around and headed down the street, but not before smiling at Garroth, Laurence, and Dante who were still hiding behind the fence.
A long silence passed before Dante bursted out laughing, slowly advancing towards Zane's doorstep. Laurence started laughing as well while Garroth simply smiled at how murderous his little brother looked like compared to how nervous and embarrassed he was barely minutes earlier.
"Who was that, Zaney? Your girlfriend?" Dante taunted, trying to hold back his laughter so he could talk properly. Garroth almost choked at Zane's priceless expression to the question.
Zane narrowed his eyes as if wanting to rip out Dante's guts out. "First of all, don't call me 'Zaney', ever. And second of all, she's not my girlfriend."
Laurence rolled his eyes, his eyes glowing with mischief. "Ya, whatever, Zaney. This is probably going to be my new OTP."
Now, Zane looked embarrassed. "W-what?"
Just then, Aphmau appeared out of nowhere and the look on her face told everyone that she knew what was happening. Everything. "Yep, this is my new OTP! Now, to think of a shipping name for those two..."
Zane threw his hands up in the air. "Gah! I'm not saying her name, you blind fools!"
Garroth just smiled secretly. "I've seen her around. Her name's Dreamer, right? Dreamer Star. Pretty name, if I say so myself."
Zane narrowed his eyes again at his older brother. "What's that suppose to mean?"
Garroth raised his eyebrow, smirking. Zane had fallen right into his trap. "What? You jealous, baby brother?"
"You people... are insane!" And with that, he slammed the door shut, trying to zone out the laughter coming from his front yard. Sighing, Zane walked towards a framed picture of a snowman, its pencil sketch carefully drawn. He slowly brushed his finger on it, smiling to himself. As long as he had Dreamer by his side, it didn't matter what the others thought of him.
