This part of the story is dedicated to my friend @TheDamBlueCookie for writing it and I just edited it.

Zoe's P.O.V

If someone asked me what was the worst thing that happened to me, you'd expect an ordinary, mundane answer. Oh, how I wished so, so much that my answer could be like that. But no, my answer was almost as complicated as my entire freaking life. Or what used to be life.

Upon the last sentence, you're probably thinking, "What the heck! Did you die and are telling this story from beyond the grave?"

Yeah...no. I'm a Greek goddess. This just proves how incredibly complicated my life is.

Also, I'm a mind reader. Not really, I'm just good at answering questions before you even ask me because of the numerous amount of times that people have asked me these questions.

So this is probably your next question: If you're some ancient Greek goddess, then how come you sound so modern?

Great question, I've never been asked that before. (Please note the sarcasm).

Also, since we're in the 21st century, you've probably already had an explanation as per to why I'm still in existence. If not, then start reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series, as well as the Heroes of Olympus series because I am way too lazy to explain.

Even though I am a goddess I know life as both a mortal and a demigod. Why, because I've lived the life of a mortal until my sixteenth birthday, or what I consider the worst day of my mortal life. After my sixteenth birthday, I lived the life of a demigod.

And this is probably gonna be your next question: What's so monumental about your sixteenth birthday?

Well, that was the day that my mortal "parents" explained my actual birthright to me. I was supposed to have this amazing, spoiled life ahead of me the second I was born. But, that's not what happened.

Instead, some minor god cursed me so that I was mortal. Though my parents (who you will find out about in the story) did whatever they could to restore my immortality, I had become fully mortal. So, I was cast down from Olympus and forced to live a mortal life until I proved myself worthy enough to be a goddess again.

My parents had explained all of this to me in a more caring and compassionate way compared to my dry and sarcastic version.

So yeah, pretty much the basics after that. I went on a quest to regain my immortality. Obviously, I'd succeeded otherwise I wouldn't be talking to you in the 21st century.

Anyways, to answer your original question: Why do I sound so modern?

Well, there is a simple answer. After my quest to regain my immortality, I gained a sense of compassion for humans. I spent a lot of time hanging out with them over the eons so I learned how to speak like the present day human.

Let me guess, you have another question which is probably: "Was your quest for immortality easy?

Gee, what do you think? (Again, notice the sarcasm). No. Hades, no. My quest was the exact opposite of easy.

Your next question: Can you tell us about your quest?

Sure, why not. Just don't be freaked about how complicated and difficult my mortal life is.

Good luck, you'll need it.
