Dustin heard a sneeze and turned around to face Hilda. She waved at him and sat down next to him. "You don't get to see stars like this anywhere else."
"How do you know I was here?"
"Raven called and I located you," She zipped up her sweater. "Are you okay?"
"You should go back home or your fever will get worse." He said dodging the question.
"I may not know how you feel about human to dragon but I do know how it feels to be alone. Did you know Raven and I are siblings?"
"Yeah, Phantom told us at the beginning. You two are the only ones with the same blood."
"Half," He looked at her confused. "We're half-siblings, when Raven was seven his father met my mother Elizabeth. A year later Raven's mother died and I was born. He lived with us until he was thirteen and I was five. Our father and my mother died and Grandfather, the fourth Jabberwocky, adopted him. No one from my mother's side wanted me so grandfather adopted me as well. I had a normal life, and then at five I was supposed to behave like the granddaughter of the Jabberwocky. At age twelve the Jabberwocky died and Raven became one of the seven dragons and I became the head of the family. I had more responsibilities and Raven left me alone. Raven's mother family despised me and my mother's family hasn't acknowledged me as part of the family. I trained myself for three years and joined the seven dragons when I was fifteen. It surprised the strong families and elders but despite that they still hate me for being born."
"Why?"
"It's something stupid. They believed Raven was going to be the fifth Jabberwocky; they trained him and adore him. When they found out about my mother's pregnancy they hated it. Some even tried to cause accidents so she could have a miscarriage. It caused chaos between the tribes. I was born and they thought that I was going to be the Jabberwocky. They didn't want a bastard child to rule them. When I became a newcomer, Raven and I took the test when Grandfather died. Raven failed and their anger grew. I took the test and I was happy I failed, I thought their anger will disappear and finally accept me even a small bit, but nope they blamed me for the failure of Raven, 'He would have had a better chance if you weren't born.' the families would say when I was alone with them. I had a messed up childhood." Hilda laughed as she sniffed. Dustin hugged her. "The seven dragons are the ones that accept me for who I really am. Raven protects me from them and we dragons consider you as family."
"But I hurt Shadow with no hesitation."
"The Jabberwocky can't show mercy, he rules the dragons. The first Jabberwocky to prove he was the strongest did the same. Getting the strongest dragons and defeated them. He hurt everyone physically, especially his best friend with no hesitation and in the end everyone forgave him. The Jabberwocky and the seven dragons are more than friends, were family."
"When I was seven I lost my family. They died in a fire and I was sent to an orphanage. There I met two people that I considered my brother and sister than my friends, Ruth and Vince. No one adopted us so we were closer than ever. The three of us were walking home and I didn't see the car. Ruth pushed me out of the way and Vince covered her and they both got ran over. It was a hit and run, and I called nine one, one. Ruth was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital and Vince was in a coma. I blamed myself for everything. Vince died a couple of months later,"
"I'm sorry Dustin but you shouldn't blame yourself, they died protecting you."
"Still if I had seen the car,"
"You can trust me that no one is going to hold a grudge on you for hurting them in the fighting."
"Can I ask you a personal question?" Hilda thought for a moment but nodded. "Eve is your daughter?" Hilda smiled.
"Yeah, she's the best thing that has ever happened in my life and it's all thanks to Jesse."
"So, Jesse's the father?" Hilda nodded. "How old is he?"
"I'm turning eighteen and he just turned twenty-one,"
"How do you guys know each other?"
"It was all thanks to Phantom, we got closer when Eve was born." Hilda smiled at him. "Let's go back home." Hilda stretched out her hand to him and he took it.
