~~Adriennes POV~~
It had been a year since we last talked. It's not like we were angry at each other or anything, we both just started getting busier and yeeeaahhh. Mae keeps bugging me that I should just say something to him but what do you say to someone you haven't spoken to in so long?? Of course Mae wouldn't stop insisting on it, but she said she would stop for today. Her and I were finally able to convince my parents to let me tag along on her family's trip to visit some old friends they hadn't seen in a while. I came up to Mae's locker as we were one of the last people to leave school (again 😂). "Ready to go??" I asked with the bags full of all my stuff in it in my hand. "Yeah! Just.. give me.. one.. second.." she said, struggling to shut her locker full of random stuff. She should really take the time to clean it one of these days. She threw her bag over her shoulder and shouted "OK!! Ready!!" And took off running like a crazy person in a Superman pose. "Mae!! There are still teachers in the building!!" I whisper-yelled as I ran after her. "Sorry!! I'm just stoked for this trip!!" She smiled giddily as we headed towards her mom's cherry red van. We both hooped into the backseat as her mom asked "ready girls??" We both smiled and yelled out "Yeah!!". "Thanks again for letting me come Mrs. Putnam!!" I exclaimed gratefully. "Oh it's no problem dear! Thanks for joining us!" Mae's mom said as we took off.
~Three hours of singing to songs on the radio later~
"We're here!!" Mae yelled into my ear as we pulled up to a park. "Really Mae?? Right into my ear!!" I jokingly shouted as we halted to a stop. "Yup!!" She yelled yet again as she pulled me out of the van. "You girls be safe! I'll be back in a couple hours!" Mae's mom yelled to us. "OK mom!! See ya later!!" Mae yelled back. She then started yanking me to the playground. "You have a serious yelling problem, you know that??" I asked sarcastically. "Yup!! It's your problem though!!" She yelled back even louder than before with an evil look. She had me sit under a pavilion in the park as she went to who knows where. I sat impatiently as I waited for her to return until I heard "Adrienne?" From behind me. I turned around and saw Kyle sitting there, in the flesh. "Oh my gosh hi!!" I yelled as I went over and hugged him. "Hey. What're you doing in Harrisburg??? I thought you lived in New York??" He asked curiously. I laughed before responding "yeah I do, but Mae made me come down with her." "Oh ok." He stated, obviously still confused. "So.. how have you been??" I asked. "Oh I've been great!! How about you??" He questioned politely. "Oh I've been good for the most part. Jeremy and I ended up breaking up though." I stated blatantly. "Oh wow, Im sorry that you guys ended." He apologized sympathetically. "It's fine... Him and I just weren't meant to be I guess." I shrugged casually. "Still I'm sorry it happened." He still apologized cutely.. my face turned bright red after I realized what I just thought. 'Cute?? Oh my goodness I think I still like him!!'. I shrieked in my head. I began ranting when I heard "Adrienne are you OK?". 'OH MY GOD IVE BEEN STARING AT HIM THIS ENTIRE TIME AHHH!!'. I fixed my posture and said "oh hey I'm fine! Just got side tracked for a bit!!". His face grew red as well when he began to nervously say, "I uh.. Actually was hoping... Nevermind it's stupid." "No it's OK! Go ahead!" I encouraged him happily. "Well uh... Do you want to go out some time..?" He asked, with his face glowing red. I smiled brightly and hugged him "of course I would!!". I felt him relax and wrap his arms around me. We stood there hugging, as we didn't realize a certain shorty was recording us. "YAHHSSS!! OTP!!" Mae shouted as she jumped up from behind some bushes, her phone having the record button on. "Mae!! You better delete that video!!" Kyle and I yelled at the same time, starting to run after her. "NEVER!!" She shouted giggling and taking off with the footage.
