I awake to a beautiful day for early October, only a little chilly in Seattle. Stephanie must be making french toast, since the sweet smell arose from the kitchen.

I had been roommates with Stephanie Lynn and Briella Sky for 6 weeks now. Thankfully we had gotten used to each other in our little downtown apartment. Once I knew I was moving from New York to Seattle to study medicine, I went in search of college roomies for an apartment. I really didn't want a dorm on campus, I couldn't really understand why, I just didn't. I wanted the adventure of having a place to call your very own. I met Briella before Stephanie, when I first moved here and there was no where else to sit in Starbucks and she told me to join her. She had seemed so friendly and laid back that I instantly knew we'd grow to become friends. Three hours and two frappichino's later, I was asking her to move in with me.

The girls were great. We went in search of places to live a few weeks later. Briella already knew Stephanie and therefore had suggested she be a good match for us, knowing she, as well, needed a place to stay. We decided on an apartment instead of house given that it seemed cheaper and more manageable. There were only three of us anyway, so it's not like we needed a mansion. Plus I lived in a very large house in New York with my four brothers and both mom and dad. So all I wanted was a cute smaller place. The less to clean, the better.

After searching what must have been 20 different places in all locations, to keep our options open, we finally found the living quarters that was right for us. It was a beautiful 2 story, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage style apartment. Which included a pool and gym for everyone to use just inside of the main entrance, Stainless Steel appliances graced the kitchen along side the granite countertops and glorious double door fridge. Which was located on the main floor. Along with the living room, lounge, Stephanie's bedroom and one bath. Up the white staircase you found mine and Briella's bedrooms along with another bath looking much the same as the one downstairs. That wasn't the best part of the place though, the luxury that drove us to leap on our much needed savings was the private library that drew everybody's attention downstairs. Even with furniture already included throughout the house, nothing was better than a library you could walk through with a small reading area on one side and book shelves lining the walls on the other. It was magnificent. All of us loved to read which was one thing that drew us to become such good friends with one another. So when opportunity knocked, we took the place.

The location was also a bonus, mine and Stephanie's University on one end of the street and Briella's only a few blocks over. With a Barnes and Noble bookstore three streets away. What could make life any better?

As I headed down and into the kitchen I could hear Steph and Bree chatting. Why we all had nicknames for one another was beyond me, but we all shortened each others names when we called out to each other.

"Steph! Is that your famous french toast I'm smelling?" I yelled over the music they had playing to start the day.

"Always is, and always will be." She replied as she flipped another piece over the frying pan.

"We've had french toast at least 4 times a week, for the past 6 weeks, if she didn't cook it today I'd be worried she had fallen ill." Briella added in.

"That's true." I grabbed the toast Steph already had made and headed back upstairs to get ready for my busy day. Med school isn't easy but it's worth it. I throw on my Calvin Klein black leggings with my long sleeved blue "It's a beautiful day to save lives" sweater. Curled my hair and lightly dusted on some makeup. Put my books in my purse and headed out.

I drove the car this morning given that it was a little chiller weather than I preferred to walk in. Getting on campus I just had four short hours to kill before lunch and then my study hall in the afternoon.

After grabbing lunch with Briella and Stephanie and discussing how our mornings were, I needed a trip to the bookstore. I was deeply wanting to read the newest romance novel. But decided to run to Starbucks for a Caramel Supremo before hand.

Walking through the store I decided to head straight to the section I was looking for. Not stopping today to browse around, figuring I better get what I need and go home right away to study. I grab the book I was in search for and flip through it, reading the summary, when a letter falls to the ground;

"Wanna play a game,?" It reads, "If so, keep this letter, purchase the book and we'll continue, if not, stop reading, put the book back and proceed on with your life."

Nearly dropping the book as I read the letter, I wondered if I should continue or not waste my time on it. Checking my watch, I thought screw it, bought the book, and went home to read the rest of the letter.
