Annabeth P.O.V
I wanted nothing more than to make some friends on my first day of high school, but, like usual, i got the opposite of what i asked for. The opposite happened to be none other that Rachel Elizabeth Dare herself.
From what I had seen Rachel seemed like your typical artsy, outgoing, high school teenager, but this was not the case. Rachel was like no one I'd ever met before, sure I'd met some annoying people who thought they were all that and talked down to me, but it seemed that Rachel's purpose in life was to make sure my life was as terrible as it could possibly be. So, when I had woken up this morning I hadn't expected to make such a strong enemy, but then again I expect didn't over half of what happened to me that whole day.
I woke myself up at 6:30 a.m. sharp, as soon as my alarm went off I turned it right back off. No, I didn't go back to sleep, I jumped off my bed and walked right to my white wood dresser and opened the middle drawer taking out a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, then I walked to my closet in the corner of my room and opened the door, choosing a tank top with different shades of blue in a zig zag pattern and a blue sweater that matched it. I did this all in 5 minutes, because of the fact I'd been waiting all night to finally get up, since I finally admitted defeat in trying to get some sleep. It was hard starting at a new school, but starting new in junior year certainly wasn't going to be a walk in the park, so I had been up all night stressing, but now it was time to face my fears. I walked down the tile hallway into the kitchen where my step-mother was making breakfast, for everyone else except for me of course. So, I poured myself some cornflakes then poured some milk on top and ate it.
"ANNIIEEEEEE!" My Little brothers Matthew and Bobby screeched as they came running at top speed into the kitchen, and basically crashing into the table.
"Hi Annie! Guess what! We're gonna be in third grade! Can you believe it?", Matthew yelled excitedly at me.
" Yes, Matthew, I can't believe it, it feels like yesterday I was being forced to change you and Bobby's diapers." I joked. I looked over at Helen to see how she had to reacted to what I had said, but she continued cooking the eggs in the pan like I had said nothing, but I knew all well she'd heard me perfectly clear.
"Ewww, Annie, that's gross!" ,Bobby told me.
"Just be grateful you didn't have to change diapers at age 9", I reminded them.
They seemed to consider that, but I remembered I had to catch the bus to school "See you later guys." I told Matthew and Bobby as I cleaned my dishes in the sink, knowing that if I didn't I have a whole list of chores when I got home. They called 'bye' to me as I walked out the door.
As I approached the bus stop I saw a girl with short, jet black hair that looked like she'd cut herself with safety scissors. Her back was towards me, and must've heard my foot steps because she said, " Look, Rachel, I'm telling you I don't know if Percy likes you ok? When I asked him he said he didn't like anyone at the moment, so-"
"Huh?" I gracefully replied as I cut her off.
She turned to face me, a confused expression crossed her face, but then just as quick she broke into a smile. I noticed she had bright blue eyes that were almost unnatural because they were so startling . "Hey, sorry about that, I just thought you were someone else for second. But, hey, you're obviously new so, what's your name?" She asked me.
It was my turn to smile "Annabeth Chase" I told her and offered my hand
She took it and shook "Thalia Grace" she told me then let go of my hand.
