Trevor grimaced as he swallowed the pills. If the government was going to force you to take medicine they should at least make it an enjoyable flavor, not whatever the fuck that is. He picked up bottle and read the label 'Cherry flavored' was printed on the bottom in red cursive letters. "This tastes nothing like cherry!" Though Trevor would take the poor excuse for cherry flavored pills over a needle in his arm any day.

"Then don't take it and you won't have to taste it," Trevor sighed and looked at his boyfriend sitting on the other side of the kitchen table.

"What and let my brain get eaten at? No thanks."

"I'm sure we can find a way to stop that from happening"

"We're not having this conversation again Jeremy," This was an almost daily conversation, one that never got far either because Trevor stopped it before it got too far or their medicine kicked in and stopped anything negative from being said. That was the only time Trevor was ever thankful for the pink pills. He felt a twitch at the corner of his lips and knew it was going to kick in soon, he stood up and walked over to Jeremy and bent down to kiss the top of his head "take the medicine. I know how you feel about it but please just do it."

"One day-"

"I know one day you won't take it, but don't let it be today. Please?" Trevor dropped the bottle in front of Jeremy, smiling as he watched him unscrew the cap and pop one in his mouth. Whether that smile was genuine or not even Trevor couldn't tell but it wouldn't go away now. "I'm going to get ready," he said giving Jeremy another kiss on the head before walking off to their bedroom leaving Jeremy alone in the kitchen.

He rolled the pill across his tongue, debating on if he should actually swallow it or not. He didn't want to, the pill was a horrible idea. It was wrong to make people feel happy, they need to express their emotions. But it would make Trevor stop worrying at least for today and then he'd worry again the next day that Jeremy wasn't going to take it. Jeremy understood why he was worried, kind of, he never went into details just said he knew someone who stopped taking them and refused to ever taken them again, whenever Jeremy tried to ask Trevor more about it he would shut down, he'd stop talking and get this far away look in his eyes so Jeremy stopped asking. He's tried to convince Trevor that he would take the pill the very next day, he just wanted one day where he could feel something other than happiness but truth be told he wasn't sure he would. Was it worth it? There was horror stories of what would happen if stopped taking them for too long but they all boiled down to the same conclusion; something happened to your brain that turned into practically nothing. As far as anybody knew there was no way to stop it, so was it worth it? Was the possibility of losing his mind really worth it? Of course he knew the answer, it was no never, Jeremy didn't know why he went through this every morning when he always knew the end result. Finally he swallowed the pill, pulling a disgusted face when he did Trevor was right it tasted nothing like cherries.
