    ~Addilyn's POV~

"Honey, are you ready to head to work yet if not, soon we will be late." My mother yelled from the bottom of the stairs, as I finished putting my chestnut colored wig on and making it look like the hair I used to have before the disease took hold of my body, making all my beautiful thick hair fall out. Having cancer of any kind has its downfalls, and I wasn't ready for the world around me to find out yet.

"Coming mom", I raced down the stairs pluggingearbuds into my phone.

"Please don't run down the stairs you can hurt yourself Addilyn", my mom scolds me next to the door.

"I'm not going to fall mom, take a chill pill", I argued back being the attitude filled 19 year old that I am. We race to the car to drop me off at my part time job at Starbucks. I put my earphones in my ears and trying not to think about what my life has become while listening to my all time favorite band Panic! At The Disco. "Death of a Bachelor" was playing and I hummed along with Brendon's beautiful voice.  While I humming, I pretended that I'm just a regular girl without cancer who is listening to her favorite song while heading to Starbucks for a drink and not going because she has to help her family with the medical bills and all. I tell my mother goodbye, made sure my wig is intact, and head into the store located at the street' s block corner.

"Hey! Where have you been, you are two minutes late!" Screams my bitchy boss Caroline, who everyone calls "Bearoline" behind her back, due to her bear like roars when there is a problem.

"I'm sorry, there was traffic the block over and it set us back." I try to reply without attitude to save my skin.

"You have one more warning Addilyn, I do not tolerate this kind of behavior in my store, do you understand me!"

I answer with the only remark guaranteed not to get me fired. "Yes, Miss Caroline."

"Good, now get back to work, you are wasting my time." With that bitchy "Bearoline" storms off.

"Wow" comments James, who is a 16 year old working as a Barista for some quick cash.

"Shut up", I fire back with my signature death glare. I immediately get to work taking orders and preparing drinks.

                                                                  -Time Skip-
I stumble out of Starbucks around 8:30pm, when my shift ends, feeling lightheaded and tired. I think nothing of the pounding headache occurring as it is usual with cancer, I only need to lie down when I get home. As my dad pulls up to the corner and tries to ask me something, but all I can hear is the constant pounding of my eardrums. When I realize what was happening, it was too late. I saw dots appearing across my vision, then everything when black and I felt like I was flying.
