Tears slid down Ruisenor's face like a broken dam, practically snapping my heart in half.

"Please don't cry!" I begged, grabbing hold of her hand.

She looked at me with the biggest, saddest, jade eyes I had ever seen, brushing her hand across her face in an attempt to wipe the tears away. But they just kept coming.

"I can't help it, Jay...Why are you doing this?" She asked pitifully.

"I have no choice, Ruise. Please believe me, I would never leave you if I had a choice."

"If you leave, I won't ever be able to leave this place. I'll be forced to wander this world until the day I die. Please, don't do this to me."

I swallowed hard, staring deep into her eyes. It seemed like she had the whole solar system inside of them.

"Jay, it's time to go," Lauren said softly from behind me.

"Jay...?" Ruisenor pleaded, her lip quivering.

I held onto her hand, feeling that it was as cold as ice. I held her gaze for what seemed hours, eventually letting my hand slip away as I walked through the doorway.

"JAY, PLEASE!!! JAY...NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

That was the last phrase I ever heard her cry, and I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces, her figuring growing smaller and smaller as I abandoned her to live forever in torment.
