15th Birthday

Hey guys!! I am really excited to make this one because I am such a fangirl of the little mermaid and I always wonder what would it be like if Ariel was a boy and Eric was a girl so I thought I would make a book. I looked it up and Ariel was actually originally a boy name. Hope you guys like it comment what you think!

Ariel's POV

"Mother please, why can't I go up?? All of my brothers got to go see the world while I am trapped down here!!" I begged her. "You know the rules Ariel, not until you are 15 years old" sighs my mother. My mother was the Queen of the Seven Seas, she never has time for me along with my six brothers; Alec, Andre, Aaron, Aiden, Allen, Adam, and me, Ariel. I don't blame her I mean she has to rule seven seas while raising seven sons without a husband. Our father died before I was born because of dumb humans they captured him and he never came back. Of course my mother has done everything in her power to get him back but she just couldn't. That is why she is so strict about us going near land, she doesn't want to loose us. I am determined to go to land and get my father back because everyday I see the sadness in my mother's eyes and I just can't take it anymore. My brothers are to occupied with sea sports and messing with the humans. I prefer to read and gaze at the surface of the water waiting and dreaming for the day my 15th birthday comes around. 2 days until I can finally break the surface of the water. Feel the air. Taste the sky. I race to bed and hope the next two days race by.

Erica's POV

"Father, Mother, please don't make me do this!!" I begged them. "You know that if you are to become queen that you must make some sacrifices for the kingdom! You WILL marry Prince Edward! You must do it to save the kingdom" booms my father. Both my mother the Queen and my father the King are forcing me to marry King Edward. I don't love him and I refuse to marry him he is selfish and cruel especially to the townspeople,thats why he is the richest of the princes. He makes them pay an awfully large tax. All I want is to be free from all of this, the ruling, the loneliness, being trapped. I feel like Im suffocating, drowning. I race to the balcony and stare out to the sea, its so beautiful. I go to bed and hope my sleep lasts an eternity...I have nothing that makes my life colorful its just bland and lifeless...

Ariels POV

2 days later

I bolt up and grin. Im 15. I can finally be free. I race to the dining room where my family is waiting for me. I hug each of my brothers and finally my mother. "Ariel, go, be happy but please be careful and I wish that someday I will see you again." I single crystal tear sinks to the floor. "Please as a token to remember me take these two to protect you" she reveals a small shy yellow fish and red crab."They will protect you" I hug her grasping the last bit of family before I go. After the goodbyes I swim out the huge castle door with my two pets "I think I will name you Flounder" I say to the little fish. She smiles. "And you will be Sebastian" I say gazing at the red crab. I look up at the surface and bolt up to the top as fast as I can, laughing, with my pets at my tail. I am finally free.
