We were in a backroom, and her smile disappeared, “How could you?” “What?” I asked, “What did do?” “You accepted that ring.” she said, pointing to my left hand, “You’re gonna break his heart. And you won’t feel a thing.” I shook head, “No. That’s not true. I love him.” She scoffed, “You can’t love him. Monsters are incapable of love.” “Who are you?” I asked, trying hard to not break down. “My name is Annie.” she said, “And, you’ve banned two of my accounts now, so I figured I’d meet you in person.” “No…” I said, trying to run, but she put her hands on my worse scars, like exactly where they were. “Yes. It’s me.” she said, “You can’t just be content with dating him. You have to marry him first, before you’re true colors shine though.” I wanted to argue, but every time I opened my mouth, she pressed harder on my wounds, causing all words to just vanish. “Ahhh…” I whimpered out, and she smiled, “I don’t think Niall would show you my last message. He’s sweet like that…” She dazed out a little, thinking about my fiancé, then she turned her attention back on me, “So, I’ll tell you myself what I said;
‘Niall, she’s a snake just waiting to attack, biding her time playing ‘Too Hot’ and other games. And when you’ve fallen completely in her grip. She’ll break you. Get out, please. We, Directioners, don’t want to see you get hurt by that monster. She‘s a monster, like Frankenstein; with all those cuts and scars, what else could she be?’”
I started crying, and Annie continued, “You don’t belong in this world, sweetheart. Only the strong can survive; the rest are just dead space.”
Suddenly, Niall came around the corner, looking for me. “Diana? Dian…” Finally, his eyes landed on the situation, “Hey, you! Keep off my Fiancée!” He came over, and Annie backed off. “Just dead space….” she whispered, before walking away.
Niall wrapped me in his arms, “Diana… did she hurt you?”
Physically; Yes… Emotionally; Yes…
“No…” I lied, “I’m ok…just…shaken up…” “Well, let’s get you to the hotel…” he said, leading me out, and shielding me from the cameras; the last thing we needed was pictures of me crying, on the day we got engaged.
“Hey guys, do you want to go out to celebrate?” Liam asked, “Lou’s buying.” “Am not!” Louis called. Niall sighed, “We’d love to, but maybe tomorrow; Diana confronted by some fan, and I think I’m gonna take her to the hotel.” “Oh, for some more ‘comforting’…” Harry said, smiling. “This is serious, Harry!” Niall snapped, “She’s really upset…” “Sorry…” he replied, “I didn’t mean anything by it.” “I know…” Niall sighed, “I’m just gonna take her back. See you in the morning.”
The Boys said their good nights, and I knew then, I couldn’t tell Niall the extent of what Annie had said. How could I? Tonight was perfect, until I was too weak to smile.
