Using the Mind (A Naruto Fanfic)

Chapter 1

A/N: This is a story that I'll be working on. I have no idea what my updating schedule will be yet but hopefully you enjoy this.

~Third P.O.V~

Mrs. Akamori, a poor women from the Akamori Village in the Land of Fire, opens the door to find a Jonin standing there with a large dog next to him. His name is Kiba Inuzuka, a Jonin that the Hokage trusts the most. Enkai Akamori, eleven years old, has been training with his father to become a ninja himself, and they will finally get the answer they have been waiting for.

"Nice to see you again Kiba." Mrs. Akamori greeted as she let the Jonin in. "And you too Akamaru." The large Niken followed Kiba in as Enkai watched from the other room.

"Nice to see you again as well." Kiba said as he smiled. "How's Kai and Lucas been? I haven't seen them for a long time!"

"They're well." Mrs. Akamori replied. "Kai has been very anxious though, and Lucas has been trying to calm him down. They have a relationship like the one you and Akamaru have." Kiba grinned at his partner and rubbed his head affectionately. 

"They must be very close then." Kiba said. "But for the decision, the Hokage has decided to let Kai join as a Genin, he even has a squad for him!" With that said, Mrs. Akamori smiled, her son will finally leave the village and become what he deserves, a well known ninja that will save many. "All I need to know is Kai's Justsus, strengths, weaknesses, and his Kekkei Genkai."

"No problem!" Mrs. Akamori exclaimed. "I'm so happy! He deserves this! Alright, he can use only water and lightning Jutsus, and he is more proficient in water chakra." Mrs. Akamori wrote down her son's Jutsus as well as his Tenjutsu and Genjutsu abilities are. "Finally, his Kekkei Genkai has no name as nobody in our village has had it for a long time. We lost the name of it but pretty much he can imagine things and those things will help him in battle. It requires great mental strength but no chakra." She continued writing this down as Kiba listened. "Lucas has been created by this, and he doesn't disappear for some reason. But I'm glad he is still here."

"I can tell." Kiba said with a chuckle as he picked up the paper. "Kai will be living with me since my house is empty, so he'll be taken care of. He's going to make a wonderful ninja." Kiba said as Mrs. Akamori hugged him.

"Thank you so much for doing this." She said. "Come on Enkai, its time for you to leave!" She called out, knowing her son has been listening to them. 

In the other room, Enkai, or Kai for short, stood up, nervous. He had on his usual outfit, a black shirt with a red dragon design, dark blue hooded jacket, and black pants, which was perfect for when he was training. Kai sighed as Lucas also stood up, petting his best friend. Lucas is a wolf who was created by Kai's Kekkei Genkai, who had black fur and Navy blue eyes. Kai had silver hair that was spiked, like his father's, while his eyes were his mother's, golden with silver flecks. 

"Let's go Kai, time to begin your journey." Lucas said in a soft voice, knowing how Kai is. "You get to make some friends and get stronger!" Kai sighed and walked into the room with his mother and Kiba, the Jonin that has been the Hokage's messenger. Kiba looked at the young ninja and smiled at him while Kai gave him a nervous look.

"Ready to go Kai?" Kiba asked, in which Kai nodded his head yes. "Alright! The Hidden Leaf Village isn't too far away and you're going to meet your squad tomorrow." Mrs. Akamori walked over to her son and gave him a hug.

"You're going to do great Kai!" She said, her eyes filled with unshed tears. "I'm proud of you, no matter what you do, I'll always be proud." She released her son and watched as they left. "Lucas! Take care of him!" She called before the wolf left.

"Of course." Lucas said before he walked out the door.

"Right this way kid." Kiba said as he walked down the road towards the Hidden Leaf Village. "Its only a few hours away." Kai sighed as he looked at his house before following the Inuzuka and Niken, Lucas right behind him. Lucas shrunk down so he was able to jump onto Kai's shoulder, nuzzling Kai's cheek to comfort him.

~Three hours later~

Kai finally spotted the huge gates leading into the Hidden Leaf Village, tired after running half of the way. Kiba looked at Kai and smiled at him, knowing how it was to be a Genin like him. 

"Not much farther." Kiba said as he walked through the gate, Kai and Lucas behind him. Kiba saw Sikamaru walk towards so he told Kai to stay where he was for a moment.

"There you are KIba." Shikamaru said with a sigh. "Man, it was such a drag looking for you today. Anyways, that Genin's squad is actually meeting right now, by the training fields. He may be tired but they aren't going to do anything that will tax him." Kiba nodded and smiled at Shikamaru.

"Thanks Shikamaru!" Kiba said as he walked back towards Kai. "Apparently your squad is meeting now, so I'll take you there." That said, Kiba guided Kai to the training grounds where he saw two young Genin and a familiar silver haired Jonin.

"And it looks like there is our last teammate." The Jonin said with a closed-eyed smile. Kai looked him over and noticed that his headband covers most of his face and his eye. "We were just introducing ourselves. My name is Kakashi Hatake."

"Kakashi Sensei?" Kiba asked. "You are training another set of Genin? Why?" Kakashi shrugged his shoulders and grinned. "Anyways, kid, I'm going to be over there after you are done." With that, Kiba and Akamaru walked off, leaving Kai with Kakashi and the other two Genins.

"You said to introduce ourselves and what we like yet all you gave us was your name." The female Genin said with a deadpan look. She had red hair that was medium length and was shorter than Kai. The other Genin just yawned, another male who was taller than Kai and had blonde hair.

"It doesn't matter really." The male said. "I doubt he's going to tell us even if we begged him."

"You are correct!" Kakashi said with a cheerful tone. "But its your turn." He said to the girl.

"My name is Rei Shimanaka!" Rei exclaimed. "I love to go shopping and beating up others! I wanted to become a ninja so I came become rich and famous!" The girl was loud, really loud, which made Lucas whimper and fold his ears back. 

"Okay Rei." Kakashi said with a sigh. "Now your turn." He said to the other guy.

"My name is Chi Shimamori." He said with a sigh. "I like doing nothing and I hate doing something. I'm being forced to become a ninja by everyone."

"That's nice Chi." Kakashi said with another sigh. These Genin are as weird as Team Seven. "Now its your turn new kid." Kai's grip on Lucas tightened as the wolf was in his arms. He was never good with talking with people, and it scared him a little.

"M-My name is Enkai Akamori, Kai for short." Kai stuttered out. "I l-like training and I-I want to become a n-ninja to b-bring money b-back to my village and f-find out more a-about my Kekkei Genkai." Kai started to tremble a little as Kakashi raised his eyebrow.

"Those are some noble goals." Kakashi commented, looking the Genin over.

"And my name is Lucas, the protector of Kai!" Lucas exclaimed with a growl. "Hurt him and I will hurt you!" Rei laughed at the seemingly small wolf while Chi shrugged his shoulders. Kakashi shook his head at the wolf.

"Alright. We'll meet here tomorrow in the morning for your test." Kakashi said. "Do not eat breakfast as you'll probably throw up during the test. See ya in the morning!" With a wave, Kakashi disappeared, leaving the Genin alone.

"I'm going to ace that test tomorrow!" Rei exclaimed as Chi yawned. Lucas jumped out of Kai's arms and grew in size once more, big enough for Kai to ride on him.

"Hop on, you look spent." Kai climbed onto Lucas' back as Lucas walked over towards Kiba. Within a moment, Kai passed out, tired from the journey and having to talk to people. His last thoughts were if he was going to be able to pass the test tomorrow.
