"I've always wanted to find a way to bring about world peace and I've always wanted to find a way to control gravity itself," Jordan told Smith.
"Well, I suppose one out of two is not bad since they are both difficult to achieve", Smith said.
"It's really very easy", Jordan tells Smith, his assistant. "And the ability to control gravity will bring about world peace."
"That's easy for you to say", Smith says, "but you are far beyond me and you are about a 100 years more advanced in your theories of gravity than anyone else on earth."
"That is true", Jordan says, "and one day soon, very soon, everyone will know who I am."
"Your invention will revolutionize transportation as well as space travel," Smith said. "But I don't see how it'll bring world peace."
"This will also have applications in other fields such as medicine, pharmacology, chemistry and I'll be able to create new elements that'll bond better with my control over gravitational fields."
"Are those gloves part of your work?", Smith asked.
"These?", Jordan said putting them on. "Yes. Up to know I've had to depend on using my computer and other hardware to create the gravitational fields needed to do what I want them to do but there is something about using your own hands...let me demonstrate. Let's go outside where I'll have some real world targets to play with."
Jordan and Smith walked outside and Jordan looked about to insure there was no one around.
"See that dumpster there?", Jordan asked.
Smith nodded.
"Watch this", Jordan said raising the gloves to eye level he spread his hands apart forming a half circle with each hand. The air under the dumpster swirled sweeping up trash and leaves. A black hole formed under the dumpster and it quickly was pulled in. Jordan quickly brought his hands back together and the black hole disappears.
"That is amazing", Smith said. "When did you develop those? I've worked with you for months and I never saw anything about gravitational gloves".
"Yes", Jordan said. "I wanted to keep that a secret until I could develop the rest of the gravitational suit that I'm working on."
"A suit?", Smith asked.
"With the technology that I've created, I'll be able to use it to make a suit that'll allow me to fly, lift heavy objects as if they weigh nothing, and I'll be able to destroy just about anything I want with black holes that I can create anytime that I want."
Smith stepped back and looked at Jordan with wide eyes. His hands trembled as he pointed at Jordan and said, "You said you wanted to use this technology to save the world. What you are describing is a war between yourself and the rest of the world."
"Well, let's face it", Jordan said smiling. "I am a genius and I do know what is best for the world. We've had wars since the dawn of man and that's now going to stop. The world needs someone like me to step forward. The world needs someone like me with the ability to actually enforce peace."
"How?", Smith asked. "Even with a suit that gives you the ability to destroy and crush whatever you want, you can't possibly take on the entire world."
"Like you said", Jordan replied, "I am far beyond you. With my technology, I'll easily be able to take over every rocket on earth and every satellite in space. I'll only use my suit when I need to make a personal appearance, but I'll be able to enforce my will from anywhere in the world. If Russia moves to attack me, I'd easily be able to create a black hole under entire cities. The world will submit. Trust me on that."
"No!", Smith said. "Someone will stand against you and if one will stand against, many others will too. They'll find a way to stop you. I'll stop you!".
Smith ran towards Jordan and reached for the gloves. Jordan clenched his fists and Smith cried out in pain.
"Really?", Jordan said. "You're like 60 years old. You really think you could take my gloves? And when I can do this with them?"
Jordan moved his hands in a pushing motion and Smith floated away from him.
"I think that's far enough. I don't want to get any blood on me. Any words before I pop your head like a grape?", Jordan asked.
"Don't do this!", Smith said. "You can do so much with your technology! We can find a way to bring about world peace but don't do it this way! That won't be peace. It'll be tyranny! Tyranny on the world will bring about hatred and that hatred will cause a hero or many heroes to rise and hunt you down."
"Well that sounds really dramatic but once the world sees what I can do, they'll calm down and get about the business of living in peace or they'll die like you."
With one hand Jordan squeezed gently. Smith found it difficult to breath as he squired against the gravity waves pressing against him from all directions. With Jordan's other hand, he placed it in front of him and focused his gaze on Smith's head. With two fingers, Jordan squeezed on Smith's head. It exploded sending brain tissue, bone, and blood in all directions. Jordan squeezed with the other hand and Smith's body liquified and fell to the ground.
"Smith, you made such a mess!", Jordan said. He widened his hands creating a black hole under what use to be Smith and the remains fell into it. Jordan brought his hands back together and the black hole and all evidence of Smith was gone.
This is turning out to be a fantastic day, Jordan thought as he walked back inside.
