The room was dead. The sun slowly crept down from its thrown, fading the sky into a mirage of the darkest shades of black. Illuminating stars scattered themselves across the horizon, pulsing themselves in and out of existence. Selena laid cold and still underneath the vintage frame of her bed. Silence pierced her ears as it shot pain up and down her body. She starred intensely at the worn out wood trying to distract herself from the events happening around her. She was being enclosed in darkness as it warped her senses. Becoming almost completely limp, she focused her attention on her heart as it struggled to push blood throughout her body. She noticed how it pumped to the beat of the rattling air conditioning unit.
Wounded and alone, she laid on the cold floor, trying to limit the noise of her breath. But with every intake of the intoxicating air, her lungs filled with fear, quenching the sides of her weak organs, pressuring her ribs. Her fingers started going numb as she slid them across the splintered floor. Her mind racing rapidly trying to figure a way out of this unending prison, thinking of what dark mysteries could be lurking within these dark, hollow halls.
Selena finally let her eyes wonder around the room, but all she could see was dreading darkness that stretched itself to every crack, corner, and crevice. She'd never felt this scared. She'd never felt this alone. Her body began slightly jolting and twitching from the fear building up inside of her, trying to pound it's way out. She held in the screams and cries not knowing what kind of damage it could cause.
Time passed and finally froze. The air became cold and heavy as it pressed down into her soul. Footsteps becoming louder as she blocked out every other noise. Closer, closer. Selena felt herself reaching a breaking point, Breathing so loudly, she was sure he could hear it. The footsteps abruptly stopped as she slowly crooked her neck to an upright position, starring clearly at the demeaning shoes of a killer. He slowly crouched down, his knees cracking, echoing through the room, he continued moving down until he was starring her dead in the eyes. The last thing she saw was the crystal blue rim of torturing eyes imprinted into the back of her mind. The world went dark, black, to nothingness, she felt herself dissolve into timeless misplacement. Within seconds Nash uttered out the words, "I win" The room was dead, and so was she.
