"Harry, I just don't think this is going to work out anymore." She held my hand in hers as she gazed off to the side. "We're just growing apart."
"What do you mean? We've been inseparable lately." I chuckled in disbelief as I watched her eyes trail around the room. They were looking at everything but me.
"Listen, I don't want to hurt you but I think we should just be friends." She sighed half-hardheartedly. I paused staring at the girl in front of me. She was so unconventionally pretty with her lilac hair all chopped up and her freaky two different colored eyes. A nose way to small for her face and a smile the took up too much of it but, all together she was perfect. At least that's what I thought. "Harry?"
"We've been together for almost 2 years, Valentina, I don't understand." I scoffed slowly releasing my hands from her grip.
"It's our senior year of high school. I think we should just enjoy it, not worry about a relationship." Her voice was so insincere, like this was a bother for her to do. "I still want to be friends."
"Yeah, whatever." I tried to play it off like this wasn't affecting me but deep down inside I felt my heart breaking. She reached out and placed her hand on my shoulder tracing it all the way down my arm. I watched as her hand trailed over my tattoos, thank god we didn't follow through with the matching ones we were supposed to get.
"I'm so glad you understand." She smiled warmly, the first time she has during this whole conversation.
"Valentina, I love you." I looked directly in her eyes and for a second it seemed as though she regretted doing this. I hoped.
"I should go, I'll see you around." She stood up and collected her satchel, swinging it over her shoulder. She gave me a small wave before leaving my bedroom. A 2 year relationship ended with a 5 minute conversation and a small wave.
I laid back on my bed staring up at my ceiling. "What the fuck?" I mumbled to myself.
I raked over everything that's happened the last couple months to see what could have driven her away. I never saw this coming I mean, we were perfect. Everyone said so. Same music taste, same interest and most importantly, same attitude.
I laid there for a good 40 minutes before I shot up, my head pounding. I needed to talk this out with someone. I grabbed my car keys and headed out of the house. I knew Liam would give me wicked good advice, he was basically a guru.
The drive felt forever as I skipped song after song on my ipod, each one reminding me of her.
It's not even that they were love songs that held meaning. They were songs that we danced to at 2 in the morning or the song I heard her listening to in the shower and from that point on automatically linked it to that memory.
I pulled up to Liam's house and sauntered up to the door. I pushed it open, I never knocked because well, he was my best mate. His family was mine and vice versa.
I bounced up the stairs two at a time reaching his room and walking in hearing the sound of his record going, a record I haven't heard blaring.
"Liam man-" I paused, seeing Liam on top of a girl the sheets covering the both of them. I stopped and backed out of the room waiting in the hallway. I didn't want to be a cock block so I sat down outside his room and pulled out my phone.
20 minutes later and I've checked all social medias. I debated going home but I knew if I did I would spend the whole night looking at old pictures and stressing over what caused this.
I heard laughing and then the door opened, I quickly stood up to see Liam in a pair of boxers.
"Harry." He said looking surprised.
The girl bumped into him making him stumble a bit out of the door way.
"Harry." Another surprise look from someone I didn't expect to see, Valentina.
