Dear Reader,

This story dates back long ago, when there was no electricity, no cars, and the only apple we knew of was the fruit.

The story takes place in a palace, with towers and gardens and ballrooms. There is also a Royal Stable, where all the best horses are cared for.

As you can tell, the people who live in this palace were Royalty. King Henry, with his beautiful wife Victoria, and thier three children.

First there is Princess Devianne, at 20, was the oldest of the three.

Blessed with bouncy, golden locks, crystal blue eyes, and a silm yet graceful figure, Princess Devianne was every man's dream.

Then there is Prince Scott, the second of the three children.

With his dashing smile, and chiseled features, he was every girl's dream. At the age of 18, he was skilled in archery, and enjoyed his free time hunting with others.

FInally, there was Princess Elise, the main character of this story and the youngest daughter to the King and Queen.

She was petite, and on the verge of turning 16, she wasn't your average Princess.

Her mind and mouth thought differently, and was a very free-spirited girl.

She couldn't care less about being a princess.

If you were to ask her now, dear reader, she would say that she would rather be a normal person, playing with friends her age and gossiping about boys.

However, she would find herself with Dukes and other Royal families, chatting politely about the weather and of other boring news.

If there was a good thing about Princess Elise, she was a very good horseback rider. Despite her mother and father's disagreement on this subject, she snuck out at night to see her favourite horse, Lightning.

Lightning was a sleek, black male horse with a lightning shaped scar on his head.

Princess Elise loved him dearly, and rode him nearly everyday. A girl, named Rose looked after Lighting at the stables, and Princess Elise and Rose were the same age.

Rose was a childhood friend to Princess Elise, and they got along very well, and took turns riding Lightning and such.

However, one day, the stables caught on fire, and fortunatly for the horses, it was on a day they were at the field, for exercise.

Unfortunalty for Rose, however, she had been inside, cleaning the stalls when the fire had happened, and almost died.

Afterwards, Rose worked alongside her mother as a head maid for Princess Elise, and a new stable was built.

Now reader, I have told you the things you must know before reading this book.

And before I make this introduction too long, I shall leave, leaving you waiting for the first chapter.

Yours truly,

Narrator.
