chapter twenty one

"yea we're gonna get going too. leave you two to talk and all" I say.

"and also you need to get me ice cream" Chandler whispers to me.

"and I also need to get Chandler ice cream" I add. Chandler smiles proudly. "bye Ashley text if you need anything. see ya Ashton, nice meeting you" I say and Chandler and I leave. we get in his car and he starts driving to the nearest ice cream place.

"thank you for setting her up" I say to Chandler.

"oh no problem. I think they're pretty good for each other" Chandler says stopping at a stop light.

"I felt bad for her. like I have you and Allie has Luke so I can tell she was getting lonely. and then on top of that she can't leave her house often anymore" I sigh. Chandler grabs my hand and kisses it.

"she's gonna be just fine baby" he smiles and starts driving again. I smile and he pulls into the ice cream place. I buy him and myself an ice cream and we go back to his house. it's getting kind of late so Chandler and I threw away our trash and headed up to his room. Chandler gets in the shower and I change into a pair of pj shorts I left here and one of his tshirts. I lay in his bed and go on my phone. a few minutes later he comes out with his sweats on and a tshirt. he comes over to the bed and shakes his hair out near me.

"hey shaggy dog cut it out!" I yell and roll away.

he laughs "shhh you're gonna wake the neighbors"

"you shook water on me" I whine and roll back to my spot.

"I'm well aware on what I did" he chuckles and hangs his towel up. I roll my eyes and get under the blankets and he lays down next to me. he immediately rolls real close to me and lays his head on my chest.

I start to rub his back "I swear you are so spoiled" I sigh.

"I don't ask for you to rub my back. you just do it. and it's amazing" he smiles and closes his eyes.

"it's a tendency I have. you're just taking advantage of it" I tease.

"am not!" he says lifting his head.

"I'm kidding. now look who's getting defensive" I laugh.

"I learn from the best" he smirks and lays his head down.

I roll my eyes "ha ha hilarious" he laughs and closes his eyes again. I turn off the lamp on his side table and close my eyes. Chandler and I have been dating for a while now but we've been close for longer. it's funny how things change. we couldn't stand each other and ever since that night with the storm, we've gotten along. everything just kind of blossomed from there. if you think about it, I could have left him outside in the rain that day, or I could have said no to that movie "date" that was so much fun. everything would have been different. I wouldn't be laying here with this boy that I love. wait. love? do I love him? he's definitely special to me and I like him a lot, could it be that I love him?

"babe you alright?" Chandler asks lifting his head up.

I snap out of my thoughts "huh? oh yea I'm fine" I say.

"you sure? your heart all of the sudden started racing" he says sitting up.

I nod "yes I'm fine. I was just thinking"

"well do you want to talk about it?"

"n-no it's fine. I'm fine really"

"baby if somethings making you nervous I-"

"no I'm not nervous. I'm fine. trust me. I just uh need to go to the bathroom" I say getting up and going into the bathroom. I shut the door behind me and look in the mirror. do I love him? does he love me? should I tell him? what if I tell him but he doesn't love me back yet? or what if he doesn't love me back at all? I'm stressing myself out too much because of this. I'm just gonna go to sleep and everything will be ok in the morning. I take a deep breath and walk out of the bathroom and get back in bed. Chandler is still there and I lay back down.

"you sure you're ok?" he asks.

I nod "y-yea I'm just tired is all"

"come here. maybe I need to spoil you a little bit" he says laying down. I scoot over to him and lay my head on his chest. he plays with my hair and kisses my head. I sigh and close my eyes. Chandler is perfect. he's so comforting and kind and funny and I love him. yea. I love him.
