Mia Gray is a 21 year-old student from George Washington University double majoring in criminology and psychology. She had always dreamed of studying criminology in college so she figured going to school in the heart of the biggest crime fighting area in the country would give her a competitive edge. The only problem is, she is not as far away from home as she would like to be. She never has never had the best relationship with her family. She had no living grandparents, all of her aunts and uncles lived out of state, she was an only child, and her parents divorced when she was 2 years old. Although there was never any abuse from either of her parents, there was also never an abundant amount of love flowing in her direction. She looked at college as a way to escape and start over. She dreamed of finding the perfect man and starting a family. Deep down, she always wanted to prove to herself that parents can show their children and each other the love she never felt growing up.

At the beginning of the spring semester, Mia applied for an internship with the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI. Ever since she was a little girl, crime shows fascinated her. She was not one to watch "My Little Pony" and even as she grew into adolescence, her friends would be watching "Say Yes to the Dress" and she would be watching "Law and Order". She always pictured herself finding the "bad guys" and taking them to prison. A week ago, Mia got a call. She had been accepted for the internship position! She was so excited to finally be one step closer to her dream job. She felt that there was no better fit for her than the BAU considering the combination of her two majors.

She woke up Monday morning ready to take on the world. She knew what the job entailed. She knew that as an intern there would be piles of paperwork to deal with and no time out in the field with the agents. But that didn't matter to her. She knew that she would have to get through the grunt work in order to move her way up to hopefully (fingers crossed) becoming an agent herself. She got ready, leaving herself enough time to take her time and get a good meal in her before heading off to her first day as a BAU intern. As she left her apartment and headed to FBI headquarters in Quantico, VA, she had some time to think. She thought back on her life and how no one believed she would ever get this far. No one thought she would be successful in the criminology field. And while she did not have a secure job to wave in their faces, she did have an internship. And she felt pretty damn good about it.
