Peering through the wide opened window of my dim living room, I saw dark gray clouds hovering above my red bricked house. I was on a standing on the living room's smooth and dark wooden floor. The back of my head was covered by the window's white translucent curtains. The silky black hair of mines keeps on floating backwards and sticking on to the curtains. I slowly turned around and rolled up the curtains. I walked around on the brown mat having nothing to do. Mom was running errands as usual, she was always as busy as a bee. My dad runs an office! Even more busier than Mom.

Sometimes I wish I could have siblings. With nothing to do, I turned back to the window. It was rained harder, small drops of rain splashed into a nearby puddle. The rain was like a hand and that large puddle was like a piano, when the hand hitted the piano, it made a short and beautiful deep note. I suddenly realized how beautiful the scenery was. It was spring and everything was green, the greenness lit up everything even on a rainy and cloudy day. Birds of all shapes and sizes flew low in the sky. The three evergreen trees in the front yard swayed lightly. Flowers leaned to one side as if it was bowing to the rain to say thanks for the water. "Wow!" I murmured to myself. Calmness washed over me as a light wind blew through the open gap of the window from the nature to the world of the house. A few minutes later, it was 4 pm, my eyelids felt as heavy as a rock from staring outside for hours. I plopped on to the long white couch with my eyes half closed.

Within a minute, I drifted into a dream or was it another world, it wasn't that clear to me. I woke up lying on the fluffy, white and freezing ground of nowhere. My head was spinning as I stood up slowly. Where am I? I thought to myself. I looked down on at my shirt, it was still the same black hoodie I wore in the morning. I still had my long hair but I kept on thinking that something's wrong.

I smacked myself, "I'm so dumb, everything is wrong, I wake up in the middle of nowhere and I have absolutely no idea where I am or what time it is".

I looked up trying to use the sun to see what time it was but there was nothing but pink clouds which seemed to light everything up. I bet that if anyone else came here, they will think that it is a fantasy land with bright afternoons everyday with wind constantly blowing! I wondered at the sky. Then I saw my slipper print on the floor, I reached down and grabbed a piece of the floor. I stared with disbelief, How in the world did I get myself in the middle of snow? For some weird reason, I didn't really feel cold at all.

Suddenly a loud and deep, echoey sound coming from nowhere said to me, "Little girl, this is an unknown mountain in an unknown territory called 'Mist',"

"Huh? My name is Lily by the way" I said to the air still turning around and around trying to figure out where the sound is coming from. "Why is this place unknown if it already has a name?" It was not supposed to be a joke but I tried to make a lame attempt trying to make it sound like one by adding a sentence. "Get it? It's unknown, UNknown." My fear started fading away but soon reappeared when I felt a human presence watching me from behind. I quickly turned around and saw a person wearing a green cloak saying ninja costume on the hood. The fear disappeared from me again. I started giggling.

"Hey!" The cloak person spoke again, he must have knew that I saw the words ninja costume because he shouted as loud as an elephant "I'm not a fake! I lost my old loyal cloak and this is the best cloak that can replace it now!"

I looked at the cloak person up and down, he is as mysterious as a ghost. His cloak covers every part of his body, his head was looking down so I can't see his face but could see his embarrassing ninja costume sign in Arial font. What a weird guy I thought.

"Come with me to the exit" The cloak person said slowly and steadily (and mysteriously).

"Oookay." I answered, I cannot believe that I'm trusting this cloak person "What exit are you talking about?"

The cloak person hesitated for a moment "It is the exit of......" The cloak person restarted the sentence as they walked on a dry real wooden sidewalk "You might not believe it but...... No, no, let me restart...... For as long as I remember, I've been here to help helpless fellows like you, little gir-"

I cutted in the sentence, "My name is LILY, for the second time, sheesh."

The cloak person started getting impatient. "Ahem" The cloak person cleared his throat. "Now where was I... ah.. Now don't disturb. I'm here to help fellow people like you to get out of this....This part you might not believe but, I help you fellows to get out of this mysterious dimension, this occur to lots of people when they're sleeping but when they end up here, I usually get them through the portal to the other real world before they wake up."

What the, was this person lying? I thought. But he looks- but I feel like he is telling the truth. Was there such things as portals? The cloak person's voice was as calm as a dove and I think it is for soothing people who are awake in this creepy world of pinkness.

"What happens if the person was awake?" I asked the cloak person curiously and slightly tilted my thin head. There was a moment of complete silence when there was even no wind blowing.

The cloak person broke the silence "If a fellow was awake, they are always obedient with a fogged up mind, you are the first fellow to have a clear mind when you woke up."

I thought about it for a moment. My mind didn't think clearly when I first arrived and that time I felt like as if I was being controlled but now my mind is crystal clear. "So, do they remember you and...the portal?"

The cloak person shook his head, it was very hard to tell his expression at all times, "No, not a thing. Mainly because in the real world the dream is the portal, when you find yourself waking up in a dream, you end up here. In most beginning of dreams, you won't usually find yourself waking up, it makes you feel 99.9% dazed and forgettable. It is also VERY important nobody knows about this- remember that, Lily"

Soon, out in the distance appeared a humongous rock around 12 meters high and 8 meters wide. It was bumpy and kind of pointy at the top. "The portal lies ahead," The cloak person bowed still having his face facing towards the ground.

" Y-you mean the portal is the rock?" I stammered with disbelief.

The cloak person lifted his head ever so slightly, "Climb to the top and there will be a rope ladder you'll have to climb down."

I looked up, it was going to be a long climb for me, I'm just a 11 year old girl. "What do you do for the people asleeped or 99.9% dazed and confused?" I asked feeling the unfairness.

"No," The cloak person replied, "The underground passage got yellowish mud in it then it dried as hard as stone, and it's right here where I'm standing on." I turned around and looked below the cloak, I saw a piece of ground with a different shade of yellow as the rest. "Unfortunately, it is time for me to go, you have a glass clear mind so you should be able to do this." In a flash, The ninja disappeared.

I used all my effort struggling till the end. I will make it! I repeated in my mind thousands of times. I gripped on a loose piece of little bumpy rock and it cracked. My other hand lost grip of a bump and let go.

"AAAH!" I shrieked. Good thing my instincts reacted fast and immediately grabbed on a bump. Thank goodness I thought with a relieved sigh.

I almost made it, I grabbed on the pointy edge and pulled myself up. There was a big hole on the top, just like the ninja had said, there was a ladder going all the way down. I looked down more closely, there was blue light. I carefully setted my feet on the rope, I double checked if the rusty nails holding the rope was firm. I slowly climbed down.

"Yes, yes!" I repeated to myself as I went more down. I got down in, about, thirty minutes. "Thanks for your help, ninja" I looked up to the pink clouds and said softly. At the bottom, the ground was as smooth as marble. I looked at the illuminate blue light of the portal's liquidy mixture, slowly stepped in. I hope I would remember everything. Slowly everything turned black, I opened my eyes finding myself in the dim living room on the couch. I turned around to the black wall clock, no time had changed, weird.

I clearly remember every second of the journey and always will. "Don't worry ninja, I won't tell anyone," I said with a confident smile.
