As I was walking through the snow,
Ah! The winter wind did blow,
It made me shiver, it made me sneeze,
Oh wind stop blowing, please oh please,
Then I saw my home in the night,
The day had gone and it was night,
My mother met me by the door,
I took off my coat and put my shoes on the floor,
Mother gave me some lovely stew,
With carrots an onions and dumplings too.
